Mountain Thunder Lodge sits directly across from the Breckenridge Gondola — and Unit 1215 is its best-kept secret. A recently renovated second-floor corner suite, exclusively managed by Gilson Group, with the only split air conditioning system in the entire building. In summer, that combination of location and comfort is genuinely unmatched at this address.

The Residence - Corner suites at Mountain Thunder are meaningfully different from standard units. More windows, more natural light, enhanced privacy, and views of both the mountain and the town that interior-facing units simply don't have. Unit 1215 takes advantage of that and pairs it with a full renovation — quartz countertops, wide-plank wood flooring, and premium finishes throughout.

The open-concept living area features high ceilings, elegant wide-plank hardwood floors, and natural light from wraparound corner windows. The split AC unit covers the entire suite comfortably — a rare feature at this elevation and the only one at Mountain Thunder. The gondola is directly across the street. In summer, that means the entire mountain is accessible without a car, without a shuttle, and without planning ahead.

Building access is via electronic key cards and parking passes issued at check-in. A refundable $250 access credential deposit is required prior to arrival, covering all physical access items. This deposit is released in full upon return of all key cards and passes at checkout. A non-refundable Damage Waiver option is also available. Full details are provided after booking.

Mountain Thunder 1215 is available exclusively through Gilson Property Group — a professional hospitality team based in Breckenridge. Every stay is prepared and managed to the same standard: white-glove cleaning, quality linens, and responsive support throughout.

Prior to arrival, guests complete a brief identity verification through our guest portal — a valid driver's license and rental agreement are required to receive access credentials and finalize check-in. In-person ID verification may also be confirmed upon arrival by on-site front desk staff, consistent with standard hotel procedures.

We did like the location of the building, but the unit itself had a lot of road noise, even with the windows closed. We would have liked to sit outside on the deck, but it was too noisy. We were not happy that the elevator was not functioning, and hadn't been for many weeks. It's a good thing that we did not take my mother in law (we thought about it) as she uses a walker. The situation was not ADA compliant, and many people we spoke to in the building were pretty unhappy with the situation. We all had to drag our luggage up several flights of stairs, which made my husbands bad back worse. In addition, there were a few instances that the hallway on the 2nd floor smelled of propane. We advised the front desk, but I'm not sure if anything was done about it. Overall, we would not recommend this unit except for the walkability to main street and the gondola.
