We are so lucky to have found Patrick and the High Country Lodge. Not only is the house perfect for a corporate retreat, but the host and his team took care of every detail and went above and beyond to make our days there perfect. Patricks cooking is top notch and the house is spectacular.
Wonderful property for a family reunion and 90th birthday party for my mother. Patrick and his wife Petra were great hosts and very accommodating. We will be back!
We decided on a destination wedding in Breckenridge and needed a place that would comfortably fit five families. This place was perfect and had amazing views of the mountains and wildlife. It's close to everything but feels like you have the mountains to yourself. We had breakfast and a reception dinner catered in-house. The food was delicious and service was outstanding!
The house was perfect for our family of 31, ranging in age from 1-77. The room configuration fit our needs as well. The location was close enough to town (11 minutes by car). Patrick & Petra catered 2 of our evening meals, and made accommodations for dietary needs. The food was delicious & generous. Patrick was an attentive & gracious host.
Patrick's property is absolutely gorgeous. We hosted a company retreat for a night and had the best experience. The home was spacious, clean, cozy, and the views are breathtaking - we saw a moose! The location is perfect right in Breckenridge with the most private mountain getaway feel. Patrick was incredibly accommodating to additional requests we had for our stay, and was 10/10 with communication. Highly recommend! Thanks again.
This was without a doubt the best ski lodge we've been to in Colorado!
Patrick was super accommodating from the get go. The check in process was flexible, the chef prepped food was delicious, all the groceries were stocked and prepped for our arrival!
The house is enormous and brimming with amenities. Despite the size, the warm fireplace and swanky game rooms still give a very cosy vibe to the house.
I think the daily shuttle bus rides in the retro suede pimped up van is enough of a solo reason to go and experience this Lodge.
Looking forward to returning!
Thanks for everything Patrick and Petra!

From booking to checkout the process has been a breeze. Patrick and Petra were responsive, generous, went above and beyond doing our grocery shopping ahead of our arrival with great selection choices! Even catering dinner one night for us - AMAZING FOOD! The views were incredible for end of of September; oh the colors. The weather was perfect. We even got out and had a bon fire one night. The house was impeccable: clean, well maintained, spacious, in working order. Very easy to plug in our laptops to the TV and run our workshops. The grounds around the property were gorgeous, many of us loved getting out for walks on the nearby trails. We’re always talking about how we can get back together as a team. Overall - incredible stay!! We are so lucky to have found this gem.

The home was spectacular for our family and a few close friends totaling 25.
Terrific hosts, Patrick and Petra were accommodating and flexible with our special requests! The lodge suited our family ranging in age from 2 months to 61 years old over a 7 day period. The beds and pillows were extremely comfortable, while the game room and hot tub provided it’s own entertainment. The sledding and toboggan trails on property were groomed to excellence and our grandkids were able to enjoy throughout the day. The living room featured a fireplace which was a wonderful environment for our our family to converse and share stories. The laundry facilities were accessible and available throughout our stay. The home is well equipped with 3 refrigerators and 2 dishwashers, certainly a benefit with a large family. With the sidewalks shoveled and the parking areas plowed, it felt very safe. We saw moose and foxes, a memorable experience. Our family works within the hospitality industry and this experience rates in the level of our 5 Star properties. Thank you again for allowing us to share your house over the holidays and our 30th Annuversary TuTu and PuPu

Great House in Breckenridge
The property was the perfect size for our family of 30. It was very clean and worked well for our group because of the many bedroom options. Our older kids, 8 and older, loved the bunk house and our younger kids, newborn-to age 6, were able to either sleep in the same room with their parents or nearby. Patrick was readily available when we had questions. He even recommended a hike that included fairy houses that our younger children just loved. They built their own fairy house near the lodge and squealed with glee when they found fairies the next morning. (My son got the fairies at the Frisco Walmart and put them there after the girls were in bed.) The parking lot and area by the basketball standard were perfect for the little kids to ride bikes, scooters, etc. One day while they were out there a huge moose appeared nearby. They quickly ran up on the deck to watch him from a safer distance. We enjoyed the Breckenridge Fun Park, hiking, Downtown Breckenridge, white water rafting and the Frisco Marina. The lodge was perfect for us.

Caution
High Country Lodge is a very nice house and my group enjoyed our stay. The caution I give you is to make sure the owners are there when you check out. I tried the night before and the morning of departure to get the owners there to make sure everything was as it should be, but they did not respond to phone calls or texts. I left the house in great shape, and the first email from Patrick was a thank you for leaving the house in great shape. Ten days later, he emailed with claims of a broken table, but refused to provide a photo for evidence. Although we moved furniture in one room, we restored it exactly to how it appeared on the website picture of that room, but apparently that wasn’t what Patrick wanted. So he kept 10% of the deposit we put down. Learn from my mistakes – make sure he’s there at checkout in order to get your deposit back.
Beautiful setting and scenery, difficult event planning
We rented High Country Lodge for our daughter’s wedding the end of February 2023. The views from the Lodge were beautiful; gorgeous woods and mountain views from the large deck. The 12 rooms slept 24 comfortably and definitely had a warm and comfy lodge feel. The common areas, of which there are multiple, accommodated the Friday night wedding dinner for 50, cocktail hour and general hang out events. The Apres Ski lunch reception the next day on the deck with an indoor buffet lunch could not have been more perfect, and the weather accommodated the deck hangout. Patrick, the owner/chef, cooked for both the wedding dinner (prime rib- a little over cooked, but tasty), and the Apres Ski lunch (mac and cheese, bison chili, a large charcutier board, Swedish meatballs, and pulled pork sliders) was delicious. Patrick also had enough staff available to provide great friendly service. We did hire a bartender for the wedding dinner and brought in our own liquor/mixers.
If we were to make a suggestion to those that might be wanting to rent High Country Lodge for a wedding event, we would suggest you ask lots of questions about what is included and what isn’t, and the price, as we found that most things were add on costs, and the add on costs were mostly over-priced. The VRBO site lists that the VRBO rental cost includes 24 people, and the next sentence says it includes ski passes, but only 2 ski passes are actually included. In talking with Patrick in the early stages of planning, he also said that he would be happy to provide rides for the skiers on Saturday morning to the lifts. This cost turned out to be $150 when some family members asked him for the 10 minute ride. The feeling was if he didn’t want to provide something he just inflated the prices. Our suggestion would be for Patrick to provide a detailed list of what he provides and what the associated cost are, so that you don’t have to go through the game of asking what is included and what isn’t and how much it costs. It made for very uncomfortable event planning. Check out instructions were long compared to other VRBOs, but doable.
The wedding dinner on Friday night and the Apres Ski lunch on Saturday turned out great, and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and the beautiful views and the friendly service staff for the dinner and lunch event. High Country Lodge is a beautiful setting.
Patrick, the host, and the property were amazing. The property lived up to everything and the location was amazing. Patrick was super helpful and flexible. Would definitely come back!
We just completed a week at Patrick and Petra’s High Country Lodge. We are an extended family of 21 ranging in ages from 5 to 79. The Lodge is spacious and comfortable and support from Patrick and Petra was quick and efficient. The multiple refrigerators was a real plus and the kitchen well stocked. The Lodge location is superb; remote enough to feel private but close to Breckenridge, the city market, recreation center and the outdoor attractions. The only negative ( and I communicated this to Patrick)is that tge VRBO site indicates a pool on the property, which is inaccurate. That small matter aside I highly recommend this property for a large group looking for a fabulous Colorado mountain experience! Thank you Patrick and Petra!
tucked away in the mountains, this cabin will not disappoint! The stars every night just make it so worth it! Patrick was an awesome host- highly recommend
This property is perfect for groups of all ages and not only has ample bathrooms (thank you very much), but ample gathering and eating space! The views are also spectacular! Patrick and Petra are also gems... if you need anything they are there!
Stayed here with a group of family members and hosted an event. The house and location were spectacular. Communication a couple days before the event turned somewhat challenging. Once we were on the property everything proceeded very well.

fun family ski weekend
I was fully satisfied with my stay at the high country lodge. This Airbnb had everything we could ask for: a large enough table to eat with several families, enough rooms to host half a village, a beautiful rec room with a pool table, foosball table and flatscreen tv, and a jacuzzi to soak in after a long ski day. This mountain house is a perfect getaway for families looking for a relaxing weekend in the Rockies. manager was very responsive.

Beautiful views and house
Beautiful views and house. Tons of space. Within a 10-15 minute drive to the mountain and downtown. Rent/bring a car that handles well and has 4WD/AWD as the seclusion of the house means you will be driving on mountain roads which can be dangerous in wintry conditions. Follow the rules and the stay will be great.

Lots of room amazing views
We had a great time at the lodge. 5 families all fit with room to spare. We also enjoyed the fantastic views of the huge property and the mountains from the deck. The kids enjoyed sledding and playing in the snow out back. We even saw a moose and a porcupine from the living room. House was clean and everything worked the way it supposed to. Patrick was very helpful and took great care of us.
