Overall wonderful stay! Home/Cabin was beautiful, clean, and in a great location. At no fault of the property/property owner, one person in our group was bitten by a neighbor’s dog while taking a walk (for exercise) in the area of the property. Very minor injury but still concerning, especially if it had been a child.Nonetheless, we would definitely stay here again!
Lake Life was a great cabin for us! It was very clean and well appointed. The beds were comfy and huge :) The game room/bunk room was an added bonus. Ping pong was the hit of the evenings! The downside was its proximity to Hwy 259 and the traffic noise from the porch. ( you couldn't hear the noise inside though) also noticed a run-down trailer house across the street, not knocking it, but it does take away from the scenery
Reception was ok, commode seats needed tightening up and hot tub was small. We enjoyed stay and would come again. Our location was good but roads needed work.
We had a great time! House is super close to the highway but that didn’t bother me too much. Everything was super clean and comfortable. It was a great place for 7 women looking to getaway!
Great cabin in a good location. We were right next door to Gutterchaos. The music is loud but they shut down at 11 so it’s not big deal. Not to mention it was convenient for decent food and a good atmosphere. Great location close to everything!!!
The cabin was more than we expected. It was beautiful inside and out.
Everything we had looked forward to. From the game room to the wonderful hot tub to the fire pit for making s’mores the grill for cooking.
We truly loved our mini vacation. Fun things to do around the area.
Will definitely have to do this again.
Thank you for making our getaway, pleasant, enjoyable and relaxing.
Booking was quick and easy. At check in we had to wait a few minutes after 3 as the cleaning crew was still there finishing up. 10-15 minutes max and the lady was very friendly. The inside is modern and updated. The beds were comfortable. Kids loved the bunk beds! The ping pong table and shuffle board... really the whole upstairs.... was entertaining for all. I remember seeing prior reviews about noise level of the road the cabin is next to, this wasn’t an issue at all for us. At one point the upstairs area would not cool down. I messaged the property owner and they immediately sent someone to check it out. With the cool nights we just opened windows and it was comfortable. By the next morning the issue had resolved itself but they also sent a team to make sure everything was working well. Jacuzzi was thoroughly relaxing. There was reviews about it being open and not too private since the bowling alley was directly behind cabin. I don’t know if it’s new but there’s a little fence area blocking the view from jacuzzi and bowling alley. Rest of the giant porch is open and outside furniture was comfortable. There’s a fire pit but everything was too wet to use it from rain. I will say it could probably use some gravel around the pit and leading to the house as it was muddy. Kitchenware met all of our needs. The rugs in the kitchen and living area could use a shampoo. A few chipped plates/bowl but everything worked just fine. The Bluetooth surround sound around house and porch was also fantastic! If you’re looking to be surrounded by beautiful nature and trees... this probably isn’t want you want. The cabin is nestled in between a bowling alley, a beat up trailer house, and a few other cabins nearby. However, everything in the inside is absolutely amazing and my family would definitely return again.
The pictures of this cabin do not do it justice! Wonderful beds, awesome layout! We had a “late” Christmas gathering with our adult children and it was a fabulous stay.
After having read some of the recent reviews I was a bit concerned about the property before our stay. We've stayed in Hotchatown cabins 2 other times previously. This property has desirable characteristics and some, not so, but overall, well worth it.
Location: if serenity in the woods is your thing, this probably isn't your jam. On the flip side, it is very close to all the hot spots of Hotchatown proper. You can walk to the brewery, girls gone wine, or greatful head. Tucked about 150-200yds off the highway, there is some highway noise, but it wasn't noticeable inside. Hot tub faces the parking lot of a incoming bowling alley, but there is a line of trees that act as a buffer. Again, location is about perspective. We had no problem with it.
Inside: This property was very nice. Not your typical rustic cedar-iron luxury you see in the area. More of a contemporary pottery barn feel. Stained concrete floor on the first level. Contemporary art pieces. Kitchen was well appointed with all the necessary appliances though the microwave was down but they provided a smaller temporary one until the main one is repaired. All rooms had flat panel TV and came with cable and Netflix. House was wired for Bluetooth audio on both levels. Two large master bedrooms with King beds downstairs. The bed we used was very soft and comfortable with good quality sheets. Bathroom was glass enclosed standup shower. The other bath had a standard bathtub. Large vaulted ceiling in the great room was nice. Stairs led to an amazing gameroom/bedroom. Room had a shuffle board and apparently a new ping pong table. Room had 4 bunks that were large. Looked like either full or queen size. Had a full couch, huge bean bag chair, large walk-in closet, and a full bathroom. With standup glass enclosed shower. Our kids set up camp and loved it. I could see this being ideal for families or adult only gatherings. Good times were had by all.
Exterior grounds: Porch lights could use a little upgrade. Possibly string some lights on the underside of the porch by the hot tub. Porch had two separate outdoor tables with chairs. Small fire pit with stocked wood pile. Three cheap plastic chairs were provided were meh. Recommend you bring a couple bag chairs for your stay. There was an outdoor propane grill, but we did not use. The road in loops around. I recommend you pull directly in and park facing the cabin(not parralel). That way you can back in and out. The loop drive has potholes.
We enjoyed our stay, but a little disappointed that the ping pong table was broken (game room was why we chose this property !) We did half way rig it ,however, only for it to be even more challenging with the totally worn down paddles! Also, the road getting to the property had huge potholes ! It rained , which made it even a bigger mess pulling a pontoon boat! All this being said , it was a GREAT house with lots of room. It was clean , beds were comfy and everything I needed in the kitchen .

Our Lake Life Experience
The inside of the house was beautiful and perfect for all of us. The sheets in both downstairs bedrooms did not look like they had been washed prior to our arrival. There was animal hair ALL over them. We had to wash them. The hot tub took awhile to heat up. Some of the bath towels were dirty. The outside of the proper left a lot to be desired. We had brought our dogs and with all the rock they really had no place to enjoy or run around or use the restroom. We thought we would have better views, but instead got we were really close to the highway. It was a nice stay for our first time, but I would choose a different cabin next time.
The property is located off of a highway and right across from a trailer home. The description claims that it is sitting on a .75 acres but it is surrounded by weeds and outside does not look to be well taken care of. Multiple potholes around the property almost took my tires out. Everything seems ok inside at first glance but closely looking everything seems to be falling apart: dirty floors, coffee maker with no coffee and old brewed coffee inside thats molding, freezer not working properly, door knobs falling off, ping pong table is half broken, bath towels have holes in them, sheets are not clean and stains, grill is dirty like it hasn't been clean for years, doors are not latching properly, broken glass in the backyard, stained bed sheets, no shampoo, soap, cheap worn out pots and pans, list goes on and on. This place clearly does not get cleaned and maintained. Management company came in with no masks to inspect the property and didn't address any issues that were apparent at first glance. For the price they charge, this place was a disappointment to say the least. To make it even "more welcoming", there is a for sale sign in front of the property which confused us when we were looking for the place. Overall I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.

Beautiful Cabin
The cabin was beautiful and was exactly as pictured. I have 1 complaint about maintence though. Upon arrival the temperature was set high and I have a medical issue that I need to stay very cold. So, I called the maintenance to see how to cool it down (it didn't seem to respond to turning the temp low) and how low can we take it down. The man wasn't helpful just said I couldn't get it down to the temp I asked about, over and over while talking over me as I tried to ask additional questions. I asked several times during the call "ok, what temp can I get it to"? He just kept talking over me then promptly HUNG up on me. Then refused to answer again after multiple attempts. I also emailed the property owners with zero response. So, I just got it as low as possible and had tons of fans going, but it was not a comfy temp for me and caused some issues health wise! Also, they are building a bowling alley right behind the cabin, like full view to it. ..So when that opens it may lose the Cabin in the woods, isolation feel.
Other than that, we loved our time there. My kiddo loved the game room. Having two full masters with bath downstairs was a must for us. It is beautifully laid out. I also just encourage every renter take pictures when you get there and on your way out. We do this everytime just in case we try to get hit with any unusual fees. It's a safety precaution every cabin renter should do just regardless of the property ownership.

Nice cabin
Property was clean inside. Some issues were noticed immediately like wheel broke off ping pong table, plastic cracked on poster upstairs, and bed was lumpy. No dry firewood to make fire for kids s'mores. And traffic is loud outside. But I would consider coming back.
