“An excellent stopover on a long journey north! It indeed has the air of a conference centre, and obviously was very quiet as there was no conference on, and that suited us. Our single bedrooms were small, but adequately equipped with a comfortable chair, and tea-making facilities, and nice en-suite. The rooms were very quiet, and had very comfortable beds. Ample parking, in beautiful grounds The evening bar menu had a good choice, and breakfast menu had a good range of choice, and was very……

“Large room, soft mattress, plenty of pillows. Room was very how and no air con but a fan was provided. Breakfast included which was ok but awful coffee. Area was nice looking over the golf course”

“Located in centre of town there was a lot of noise from people going to and from pubs/clubs, also a lot of boy racers in there cars driving around and around constantly past our room window, we did stay on a Saturday night so probably busier than other nights, but had to have window open due to being hot and no air conditioning, and even with window closed still quite noisy. Made it difficult to sleep till about 2am when people started going home, obviously this is out of the hotel’s control and……

“We happened to stay during a heatwave. The room had no air conditioning, only a fan. The room was spacious but really needs an update. The corners of the bed and the duvet cover were torn. The wallpaper was also peeling. The bathroom renovation was acceptable. Breakfast was in buffet style but the refills were too slow—there was nothing left to eat and all the juices ran out.”

“Mijn 2de keer dat ik heb een overnachting geboekt hier. Mooi schoon kamers. Geweldig pub met lokaal bieren. Geweldig eigenaar en medewerkers. Heel vriendelijke lokale mensen en 5 minuten lopen van het stad centrum. Engels ontbijt van de hoogste niveau voor 9 1/2 pond. Mooi beer garden en gratis parkeren voor gasten. Top top locatie en niet duur.”

“Just love stopping here. The food is really first class and the staff are lovely. We stay here on the way or way back from our sons in Somerset. It has weddings on a weekend and the restaurant closes on a Monday so we do try to fit our travel plans in so we can stop here.”

“The flat/annexe was extremely clean and the host was very welcoming. The bed was comfortable and the shower was excellent. Extremely peaceful and relaxing, if you enjoy walking it is also the place for you. Highly recommended.”
