The Marmorosch Bucharest is, in many ways, pure Instagram. The lobby, entrance, façades, and public spaces are beautifully decorated—especially during the holidays—and feel grand and festive. However, the rooms themselves are very basic: modern, clean, and functional, but nothing special or memorable, and a clear contrast to the dramatic common areas. Much of the hotel atmosphere felt dominated by people using the space mainly for photo shoots, with constant outfit changes and staged photos, which made it difficult to relax as a guest. Our first check-in was cold and unwelcoming, and we were told the Vault bar was fully booked—only to later find it half empty. The first room was basic and had a constant ticking noise; after requesting a change, we were moved to a better room the second night, which significantly improved the stay. The location is excellent and very convenient, and I would consider staying again for that reason alone. Overall, it’s a visually striking hotel, but the experience feels more curated for social media than centered on consistent, genuine hospitality.

I stayed three nights with my family at the Marmorosch Hotel in Bucharest. I had a very bad experience with the hotel service. The reception staff were extremely unfriendly throughout. The room service was average. We were scammed by a taxi driver on the first day, traveling from the airport to the hotel. The Transylvanian castle tour was a disaster. On the first day, the tour was canceled, and we had to book a new one with a different agency, which was awful. There was terrible traffic, the order of the visits had changed, and one castle was closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. These last few things aren't directly related to the hotel, but I'm mentioning them in case they can help someone else avoid them or if the hotel could resolve the issues themselves.

The building inside is beautiful and the staff are so friendly and helpful. The breakfast is incredible, especially the French toast and omelette station. The hotel is also in a brilliant location to access the old town. I highly recommend this hotel!

Coffee machine didn’t work, chair was broken with missing screws. Area at the main lifts smelled like cat pee. Charged 3200 Ron (£557+) upon checking without explanation. At check out was over charged a further £45 GBP (they charged double the advertised fees), noticed by myself after reading the invoice total (in Ron so confusing when room booked in Euros). Then had to pay in full £415 again for the correct rate. Property currently owes me £557+ which they’ve held on my card and not released, despite emailing them. My bank says 30 days before they can get involved. Room was ok, perhaps a little better than a Premier Inn. Best part was the view over the roofs from the 5th floor. Would not stay here again - Bucharest is however very beautiful.

We kept having to ask for milk and tea for the room but it was always given and no extra charges for this. Staff told us about the vault but did not tell us you needed a booking! So when we went there we could not sit down or even stay for a drink. This was ok as it was pretty tiny in there and it was too brightly lit- nowhere to dance - atmosphere could have been much better if lighting was improved. The idea of it sounded interesting. Spa massages were excellent and staff really polite and professional. Spa manager was not very helpful to accommodate massages for some reason unknown to us on our last day. Spa clean and Gymn very well equipped. We loved sitting in the lobby for hot drinks but didn't eat there as it seemed expensive. Overall I would go back. The staff really made the place excellent.
