"This is a nice place for a gettaway and if you have kids even better. The beach is very nice. Not crowed and the water is sublime. You can wade out 100 feet or more and the water is at your waste or lower. The Kayaks and Canoes are nice to have. I went out most days in a Kayak. The staff are mainly young students but they are very nice and attentive. The pool is ok nothing special but great for kids. For seniors or those with mobility issues you might want to think twice about this place. There are 100 stairs to go down to the beach. No problem if you don't have health issues but it could be a concern otherwise. The general maintenance is not great. You can see that the resorts is managed on a tight budget but they take care of the essentials. The rooms are older though they are clean just don't expect luxury accommodations. We had a lake view and balcony which I recommend. Initally when we checked in we were given a room which was not the same as the description when we booked so just beware of this. The desk representative was so nice and she put us in another room with the balcony and lake view. The food is good although a bit pricey . Luckly Huntsville is close by so you have plently of options. One evening we had as entertainment a guitar player /folk singer who was excellent. Overall it was a nice gettaway. I would recommend it if you want to get away for a few days and not spend a fortune."

"Picturesque little cabin, not too far from a semi private dock. Host was communicative. Property well maintained. Lots of bugs, so bring your spray. A battery powered fan was very helpful for the warmer evenings."

"I had a very enjoyable stay at this hotel. The owners are a wonderful husband-and-wife team—very kind, welcoming, and genuinely caring. They were always responsive and made us feel at home throughout our stay. The room was spotless, and everything was exceptionally clean. The towels, bedding, and overall condition of the room were excellent. From a cleanliness and comfort standpoint, everything was perfect. The only area that could be improved, in my opinion, is the mattress. This is completely a matter of personal preference, but I prefer a softer mattress, and I found this one to be a bit firm. Also, the bathroom in our room (the Queen Room) was on the small side. The shower area was quite compact, and the bathtub wasn’t very comfortable to sit in. That said, this may be specific to the room type we stayed in, and other rooms may have larger bathrooms. Overall, we had a great experience and would definitely consider staying here again. The outstanding hospitality and cleanliness made our stay truly enjoyable."

"We had a wonderful stay at this cabin! It was the perfect place to disconnect from everyday life and relax. The sound of the rapids while sitting around the campfire at night was incredibly peaceful, and the star-filled sky was unforgettable - I even saw a shooting star.The cabin was clean, cozy, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. If you’re looking for a quiet getaway surrounded by nature, this is the perfect spot. We’d definitely love to come back!"

"This was a beautiful family friendly cottage, we loved that even though it felt new it still had the rustic cottage feel to it. It was lovely to be able to bring our little ones and have fun with them during the day, but at night have adult time and be able to relax in the sauna, hot tub and use the fire pit under the nice string lights. 10/10 communication with the host, Nicole was so helpful and was always quick with responses if we needed anything. We will definitely be back again! Thank you Nicole"

"Lovely little off grid cabin. Lake was nice and warm, property was clean and private. Since it's in the woods, there are a LOT of mosquitos, bring a mesh tent and bug spray. Very relaxing, chill spot for a private getaway."

"Our stay at the Blue Heron Lakefront vacation suite was absolutely perfect! The property was spotlessly clean and incredibly well-equipped with everything we could possibly need—and more. The host, Susan, was wonderful. She was extremely helpful and always quick to respond to our messages. We loved that she left helpful little notes around the suite, which answered our questions before we even had to ask. We greatly enjoyed our stay, plan to come back again, and highly recommend this place to anyone seeking a peaceful getaway!"
