“This place was placed perfectly. Just across the street from a very nice peaceful beach access, as well as a large park for children and dogs. There was an exceptional farmers market on Saturday that had an immense variety of local product and food trucks. The hosts were very responsive and accommodating. My family and I stayed (Grandma 72 years old, aunts and cousins from 6years old to 37, and my mother 52 years old.) I would stay here again.”

“This was our first time staying in a place that provided most of what we needed. You can tell that Emily thought about everything that a family would need when being on vacation. We had plenty of towels/washcloths, there was liquid soap & shampoo in the shower. The kitchen had everything in it ☺️ food was the only thing we had to purchase. The laundry room was well stocked. Books and Board games available in the living room (we definitely enjoyed playing one of the games). The beds were……

“Great location. Small but perfect for close friends and family. Water heaters are small but manageable with quick showers. Overall a great place to stay and great communication with property owners. Would and will definitely stay again.”

Some things to consider…one bedroom is on the first floor, but both the full baths are on the second floor, so if you have anyone in your group with mobility issues, this is not the best place. As others have mentioned, there are only four chairs in the living room and only four chairs at the dining room table. “It was hard to find the outside trash cans. We were asked to start a load of towels when we left out but there was no detergent. We never could find the light switch to turn the front porch lights on. Overall the stay it self was nice. Prior to showing up we did have an issue. We are a military family and we were traveling for Thanksgiving to see our 2 kids that are in the Navy. One is in CT and the other there in Norfolk. “The ceiling was low, bathroom sink was clogged. Bathroom floor needs work. Property was clean and beds were comfortable. Loved being at the beach. They have a different Property i stayed at on an earlier date that was great. Although we didnt care for the mentioned things, the process was easy and the owners were good to deal with.”

It isn't adequately stocked with even a counter cleaner, toliet paper, paper towels, 3 forks.I asked if we could be provided with a few things including batteries for thermostat that were low, few fans (place does not properly cool) She was out of town and told me to buy whatever I needed to make our stay better and she would reimburse, which she did. “The cottage may look small from the initial picture, but there is so much room to relax and enjoy that this is the perfect location no matter what the weather gives you. Two separate lounge areas inside, and one on the covered front porch. A great neighborhood to walk and just one block to the beach. The owners make beach days a breeze by providing a cart, chairs, and beach towels. Food prep in the well stocked kitchen or using the grill will help cut expenses. A grocery store is mere minutes……

“Just like thay stated. A dual family under renovation. If you want shiny granite and huge bathrooms you won't be happy. Larger than expected. Highly recommend this place if coming to visit family at Norfork Naval Base. Close to the base, beautiful beach. Kitchen is workable. Wish they had a few more drinking glasses and a can opener but stores were very close by and we were able to pick some up.”

“We left the property an hour after arrival due to the tremendous smoking smell in the property, the dirty and stained couches (one smells of urine), and busted window screens which kept us from being able to open windows and air out the duplex. For minimal investment in screens and going to a thrift store for clean sofas, this property could be fine, smoking smell aside. The other side of the duplex, I suspect is lived in semi permanently as when I contacted the owner about the smoking smell,……

“This was our second stay at the house and it was fantastic both times. The property manager is so easy to work with and the house had everything that we wanted! We loved the large family room/living room space. The house is right next to a canal, which is nice to be able to go out and look at the water in the morning and/or throughout the day.”
