Tranquil Cottage

Julian’s place is stunning. The house itself is great- very pretty and plenty of outside areas to sit. The setting is amazing in a lovely, peaceful forest but only 10 mins from the village. The highlights for us were the pool which was great in August and the peace and quiet the setting offered.

I’m afraid that if you are looking for over-crowed beaches, bars and noisy night life-style, this place is not really for you.However, it is absolutely ideal if you are looking to a quiet, simple and authentic place, at the heart of a forest on top of a mountain, in a close and privative environment, easy to access, close from beautiful beaches.From there Vigo, Santiago da Compostella, Baiona, A Guarda, Cies Islands, beautiful beaches and many other incredible places are accessible. You can end-up your day by relaxing in the swimming pool, have a nice barbecue, and if you have a dog its freedom around the house have no price. Thank you Julian and team to make it possible and easy. I hope to come there again.François

Very good area, house needs improvements.

The area is very nice, a lot of beaches and locations close to the house in a beautiful scenery. Bueu is a small town with a lot of nice bars and restaurants. The house was not equipped according to the descriptions (no sun longers only chairs available - we got some delivered at the end of our stay), garden was not in proper condition, was prepared in the mid of week 2. Promised change of towels and sheets did not happen either.

Beautiful location , traditional house

The property is set in a stunning woodland location with vistas across the bay. Pool and little Galician grain store are fabulous . Need to drive to any facilities, but that is obvious given its location. Good for exploring the local traditional coastal towns, most have amazing beaches. Owner is very responsive to queries, easy to get help whilst there. Property itself could do with some modernatistion, I would describe it as a rustic farmhouse. We were a little disappointed that there was no hot tub as advertised , but owner says he has now removed this from the description. He could not have been more helpful . All in all, a lovely house for relaxing in the garden and for woodland walks

Great Relaxing Place to Stay

This stay met all our needs from the time we started until we left. We landed in Vigo around noon and once we had our car we let Julian know and he immediately made arrangements to meet us at the house early. Maria Jose was waiting for is and walked us through the house. As is mentioned the house is on a farm and is not new but has everything you need. The house was cleaned they had a welcome gift basket for us and showed us how to use everything. It's in a small town called Bueu on the top of a hill with amazing views across the water and plenty of space to walk around. My 6yo loved exploring the property. The pool was clean and ready for use. Julian was always available for questions, suggestions and was very polite. We ran around all day long so it was a nice quiet place to end every day. About 10 mins to the beaches and town. Plenty of place to eat, shop and buy groceries. We would definitely stay there again!!

Lovely three-generational family holiday

We had the best time in this gem of a house. We travelled with my elderly parents and our teenage sons and we all loved it there. My parents especially appreciated the pool and the exotic garden plants and trees, our boys loved having so much space to play cricket and we all enjoyed the house with several places you could eat, sit and relax, including the Horreo by the pool. Any minor problems were quickly solved by messaging the owner. We were there in August and I'd suggest anti mosquito sprays or plug ins. The tap water is not drinking water so you have to buy bottled water but this wasn't a problem as there are supermarkets within 5-15 minutes in the local village or Bueu which has bigger shops. There are so many beautiful beaches within short driving distance with white sand and great chiringuitos. The sea food is amazing. We will definitely want to come back soon.

Un pedacito de paraíso en la tierra.

Hemos pasado unos días geniales en la casa. Es incluso mejor de lo que se ve en las fotos. Gran piscina, un terreno espectacular y una casa con mucho encanto. La casa es fría, pero muy agradable. Un remanso de paz maravilloso en una propiedad impresionante. Necesario coche para salir de allí, pero muy bien localizada, cerca de playas, supermercados, cafeterías, etc, y a solo 5 minutos de la principal carretera de la zona. Genial tanto para pasar unos días totalmente aislado como para aquellos que quieren aprovechar su estancia para visitar todos los rincones de las Rías Baixas. Maravilloso para viajes familiares: 3 habitaciones, zonas comunes y mucho terreno para disfrutar de absoluta intimidad. Apto para niños y mascotas.

RELACIÓN CALIDAD-PRECIO NO CORRESPONDE

UNA COSA ES QUE UNA CASA SEA ANTIGUA Y OTRA QUE ESTÉ VIEJA Y POCO ACONDICIONADA PARA EL TURISMO RURAL: NADA PRÁCTICA: sistema de puertas/ventanas obsoleto (contar media hora cada vez que vaís a algún sitio en cerrarlas); sofá incómodo; no hay WIFI; la televisión no funcionaba (llamamos a la persona encargada de "solucionar cualquier incidencia" y no supo arreglarla, al final la arreglamos nosotros); el día del check-in ni un correo ni un wasap para decirnos el punto de encuentro para recibir las llaves (son detalles que aprecia el viajero después de un montón de horas de carretera); mampara rota (palabras textuales de los dueños "no vale la pena arreglarla" por lo que cada vez q uno se ducha media hora de fregona; chimenea presente con el tiro cerrado (en la descripción de la casa deberían poner SOLO lo que es utilizable). En las fotos de VRBO aparecen sillas/tumbonas inexistentes y delante de la casa hay construidas dos naves grandes que afean la casa tapándola y dejándola sin vista (eso no aparece en las fotos... es sorpresa). Alrededor de la casa una parra de uvas que es un hervidero de abejas-avispas (está claro que en el campo hay insectos.... pero podrían poner una hiedra-bunganvilla o algo que no atrajera tantos insectos o simplemente ninguna planta tan cerca de las ventanas.... si la quieren conservar poner unas mosquiteras en las ventanas porque en algún momento uno tiene que abrirlas para ventilar) y todas las noches perdiendo tiempo tratando de sacar los bichos de las habitaciones para descansar tranquilos -ya no hablo de las personas que sean alérgicas a las picaduras-. // La casa está en medio de un gran bosque, totalmente aislada, en caso de incendio sería muy peligroso. Me ha parecido desorbitado el precio (1.500 euros, 9 días, solo un grupo de 2 personas + 1 bebe) para lo que ofrecen, tienen que ser consecuentes y renovar bastantes cosas para que la casa sea funcional. Si no desean meterle mano tienen que bajar el precio de estancia por día. Creo que por la zona tiene que haber opciones mucho mejores o al menos consecuentes con lo que ponen de su alojamiento en la página web. Que conste, a mí no me importa pagar lo que sea, pero que sea REAL y uno se sienta CONFORTABLE como mínimo.

L’extérieur de la maison est très beau et bien entretenu . Il est très agréable de se reposer au bord de la piscine avec la vue sur les eucalyptus. la maison à l’intérieur est plutôt vétuste. Le soir et les jours de pluie la maison est très fraîche et sombre, le temps n’étant pas toujours très chaud en Galice même fin juillet.

Amazing house and "garden"

We spent 2 wonderful weeks in this beautiful house with the breathtaking property including the pool. The house has everything you need and the forest invites you to explore! It was perfect for our two dogs. Also the surrounding cities, villages and beaches are really nice and worth a visit! We would love to come back and stay longer! All in all it was a wonderful experience. Since we came with two cars it would have been great to have two sets of keys to be able to split up and do different things. We would definitely recommend staying here!

La piscina, muy bonita

NO CUMPLE. Estancia de 15 días. Tuvimos 5 días de mal tiempo y la casa estaba fría. En el anuncio consta calefacción, pedimos que la encendieran: inútilmente: ¡NO FUNCIONA!, así que, como solución, ¡nos trajeron 2 MANTAS más!. La carpintería tendrá 80 años, con ventanas en madera de dos hojas y apertura vertical (mi mujer, por ejemplo, no podía levantarlas) que permiten una generosa entrada de aire. Los sofás huelen a cerrado, es decir, MAL. La limpieza deficiente, y sin una aspiradora que nos permitiera limpiar a nosotros mismos. La batería de cocina, INUTILIZABLE (todo se pegaba y tuvimos que comprar una sarten y una olla). La cafetera eléctrica: INEXISTENTE. La cafetera italiana: PLAGADA DE MOHO (tuvimos que comprarnos una). La casa tiene tejados ¡de URALITA! cubiertos con teja. Los electrodomésticos (lavadora y secadora) muy bien, sin embargo. Es un total abandono, y es una lástima porque el entorno y la piscina están muy bien.

Une vieille maison qui a gardé toute son âme. Ne plaira pas à tout le monde, c'est certain mais les améliorations - piscine, eau chaude, chauffage, machine à laver, ..- faites avec les moyens du bord ont un certain charme. A déconseiller par temps mauvais mais un bril de soleil la fait revivre.

Beautiful peaceful retreat

The house is even better than the photos. A beautiful location in the woods Fernando met us locally to lead us to the spotlessly clean property. The gardens are well kept and the clean swimming pool was a massive highlight for the kids. The little house on legs is next to the pool and a great spot for people to chill out in a bit of shade of they're bored of the pool. In the main house everything worked well. There is a well equipped kitchen and an indoor dining area if it's too hot or cold outdoors. There is a small village nearby and Bueu is only 10 mins drive away so you can easily go out for a meal, to the beach, etc. Overall a great stay. Great communication from Fernando and his family and would definitely recommend.

Mi mujer y yo hemos estado 8 noches aquí y sin duda lo volveríamos a hacer. Eso sí, te debe gustar estar sólo. La casa tiene todo lo que se oferta y para nosotros no fue necesario más. Los anfitriones fueron muy atentos. Lo único que yo encuentro a mejorar es el acceso a la finca. Es un poco molesto tener que bajarse del coche a abrir y cerrar el candado de la cancela, sobre todo si está lloviendo. Un saludo.
