This hotel was superb. The staff, the room, the outstanding food quality, the location (literally right at the Kruger gate), and the ambiance were first-class. We watched elephants and hippos from the pool deck (don’t worry—there is a fence). Highly recommend!

I had a wonderful stay at the Kruger Gate Hotel. The room was very nice and very comfortable with a lot of storage. The breakfast was good and the dinner buffet outdoors was excellent with many different local dishes, and amazing ambience with the fire pits and the local singers as well as the hotel staff singing ‘happy birthday’ to guests. The game drives arranged though the hotel were amazing and we saw all the Big 5 and many of the other animals and birds as well. The spa was wonderful as well. The infinity pool and viewing deck are truly amazing. As the hotel borders the Kruger National Park, we were regularly visited by elephants, nyala, water buck, and some hippos as well as a croc could be seen. The truly amazing allure to this property, however, is the staff. I cannot say enough good things about everyone. Everyone made us feel welcome and well taken care of. Special requests were honored with diligence. I would definitely book this property again.

The Kruger Gate Hotel really is the dream hotel and we honestly cannot recommend it highly enough. From the moment we arrived, everything about our stay was outstanding. The hotel itself is beautiful and the location is simply incredible. There cannot be many places in the world where you can relax in a swimming pool while watching hippos and elephants at the watering hole. It was one of those experiences that you have to keep reminding yourself is actually real. The food was another huge highlight. Both breakfast and dinner were incredible, with an amazing amount of choice and consistently excellent quality. Every meal felt like an experience in itself and we genuinely looked forward to seeing what was on offer each day. The entertainment was also amazing and added so much to the whole experience. It was wonderful to feel immersed in the local culture while enjoying our evenings at the hotel. One moment that will stay with me was hearing the staff sing The Lion Sleeps Tonight while we were eating. I’ll admit, I even got a little glassy-eyed. It was such a special and unexpectedly emotional moment and perfectly captured the magic of being there. The staff were absolutely outstanding throughout our stay. Everyone was friendly, welcoming and attentive and they all played a part in making the hotel feel so special. We also booked our safaris through the hotel and they were incredibly well planned, exciting and undoubtedly some of the highlights of our trip.

Safaris in this area are very expensive this offers great value for money. Food was excellent, particularly the Boma at dinner.The safaris were great as the guides really try to find the big game. We stayed at an expensive lodge in a Private Concession and felt the Kruger gates safaris were better although with more traffic

What an amazing hotel. The rooms are lovely. Pre dinner drinks at the infinity pool area overlooking the Kruger Park is awesome. Dinner buffet is delicious with a large variety of food and the service was fantastic. Thank you for a great stay!

Great family-/child-friendly hotel adjacent to Kruger Gate, making it super convenient for safaris (5am departure = 530am wildlife sightings!). Pool view is stunning, and a further kids pool make it pleasant and entertaining for kids. Staff were super attentive to ensure our stay was pleasant! The dinner buffet was incredible!
