Stylish and comfortable, set in the beautiful Perigord Vert National Park in the Dordogne. Look no further for peace, tranquility and nature in this idyllic setting in a quiet and pretty hamlet. The newly updated property includes many traditional / authentic features yet boasts up to the minute amenities. The Super King Size bed can be separated to provide 2 x single beds. There is a log burning stove for cool evenings, electric oven, induction hob, microwave oven and fridge with freezer compartment for cooking enthusiasts. A 42 inch wall mounted smart television includes streaming platforms such as Netflx and Amazon Prime. Outside there is ample room for parking one vehicle as well as outside dining and relaxing in the outside furniture provided. Being set in a National Park it is perfect for walkers, cyclists, photographers, artists, astronomers and anyone who appreciates nature and healthy living. 10 minutes to shops, lake with water sports, horse riding, bars and restaurants. 20 minutes to golf. There is a very large weekly (Wednesday) street market in nearby Piegut - Pluviers which also has banks, shops and chemist etc. 30 minutes to Brantome. 60 minutes to Limoges Airport, 70 minutes to Perigueux, 2 hours to Bordeaux or La Rochelle. Car essential.

  • My dad's friend owns a really cool karting circuit in Pageas, a few kilometres from Chalus where I grew up in France. They are both hunters. I know this is not everyone's cup of tea, but a lot of people from that generation in rural France do like hunting, fishing, fetching mushrooms. There are woodlands all around the karting circuit. My dad and his friend have built some platforms in the trees, and from mid-October to mid-November they go there every morning to shoot migrating birds. Those ones are some sort of wood pigeons going from Eastern Europe / Russia to North Africa. I did my own shooting that morning... with my camera! The sunrise was spectacular with some nice pink colours and mist in the valley.
