"Normaway Inn offers a peaceful and unique countryside experience, far away from the noise and crowds.
The property is surrounded by beautiful rural scenery, and the quiet atmosphere made our stay feel especially relaxing. One of the highlights was spending the evening around the fire, which created a warm and memorable experience.
The room was generally comfortable, although I think a little more attention to some housekeeping details would make the stay even better.
Overall, it is a lovely choice for anyone looking for a calm, rustic escape in a beautiful natural setting."
Beautiful Log Cabin close to beaches/Golf & Cabot Trail
8/10 Good
"What a beautiful log home! From the minute we walked in, we were in awe of the size, the amenities and decor. This was the perfect place for our family trip with nine people. There were ample sleeping spaces, plenty of places to play games, read or watch a show. This place has a really well equipped kitchen and for room for all of us to dine together in the large dining room. The campfire was a big hit too! We found lots of towels and bedding. The home's air conditioning was great on the hot days and nights. Unfortunately, the fridge died a few hours after we checked in. The host and the property manager, Clarence worked really quickly to provide a temporary solution and get us a new fridge the following day! They gave us amazing support throughout that ordeal. Clarence was very responsive and checked with us to make sure we had all that we needed throughout our stay. All in all, it was a good experience, easy to find directions and close to go tubing down the Margaree River and swimming at the great sandy beaches!"
"Cute place to stay to start a Cape Breton Tour. We overnighted here before a golf trip at Cabot Links.
Our chalet was very functional and cozy.
The dinner and live music were excellent and fun!
Check out was slow and inconvenient- staff have multiple duties that slowed things down."
"It is a beautiful property, but there were issues. No hot water , no telephone and the tv didn’t work. Hot water and tv problems were fixed with a phone call, but shouldn’t have been an issue."
"This is a lovely house with a beautiful yard. Our kids loved playing in the yard and there was plenty of room for everyone to spread out. The kitchen was very well equipped. Barb was easy to communicate with and was readily available. We loved our stay."
"Our Family stayed in this rental for a week. It is on the same road as the town school so we were able to walk to the playground. We were also able to walk to shops and eateries. My husband walked his clubs to the golf course for an early tee time.It was clean and well supplied with linens, and kitchen necessities. The only thing to note is that the bathroom is on the first floor and the bedrooms are all on the second with steep narrow stairs, making night time bathroom trips for younger kids a concern."
"Great property, just as described. Gus and Gert are fantastic hosts and very welcoming. They greeted us upon arrival and gave us a rundown of the property.
The have a trail that leads to the river and have done a great job of marking it off. We loved the mini driving range and the fact that they supplied the balls and clubs."
"We were first to stay at this property for the season, there were a few kinks but Bill was responsive and fair. Here is what is important. The queen bed and bunk room matresses are really comfortable. Adequate towels and sheets etc. The house was clean.Bring your own stuff, milk, sugar, coffee, salt and pepper. Its bare bones, but the price is good. If you want 5 star go to Cabot. The view and location are amazing. Its an old duplex and you share the patio, but that's OK. Everyone should be friendly, its Cape Breton and the golf is amazing!!"
