  • Let me preface these discoveries by saying that I ended up in Calella haphazardly. It is not necessarily a town that I would generally recommend. It is not your traditional Spanish/Catalan dream destination. It very much looks like something the 70's spit out and no one ever bothered to clean up. With that said, I freaking love this little freakish town, which I quickly & affectionately nicknamed "The Twilight Zone." The strangest occurrences happened throughout the month, yes MONTH, I lived in Calella. Apparently since the 70's, Calella, was a booming tourist destination for Western Europeans and the British. It has been on a massive decline over the past decade. What's left behind though are some fun Dutch and English/Irish pubs, a small welcoming expat community, and one of the most incredible beaches you will ever lay your eyes on. Beautiful clean white sand for miles and crystal clear turquoise water. Parties & bars on the beach, some free concerts in the summer time and of course drinking it allowed as well. If you happen to find yourself here, you must stop in at Beach Boys Club, tell the owners, Brian & Cathy, that Amber sent you. Then hit up Brian for his secret stash of American imported Budweiser (Did you know the bottled stuff is always produced in country? Brian believes the secrets in the water, so he gets the cans from the US. Brian is British, which makes this little story even better.) Also, be prepared to eat a lot of rotisserie chicken.

Het verblijf is fantastisch, en luxe! De bedden zijn heerlijk, en de ligging tov de restaurants, barretjes, Barcelona, Lloret de Mar, Girona is erg goed. Enige punt is de spoorwegovergang die exact tegenover het appartement ligt. Opzich is dit niet erg, en valt zelfs het geluid met de schuifpui dicht heel erg mee, maar met de schuifpui open valt op dat de bel van de spoorweg onnodig lang en vaak herrie maakt. Dat is jammer.

Das Apartment war den Fotos entsprechend modern und geschmackvoll eingerichtet und hat eine super Lage zum Strand und zur Innenstadt von Calella. Der kleine Bahnhof der Stadt befindet sich nur wenige Gehminuten von der Unterkunft entfernt und bietet sich gut an, um Tagestouren nach Barcelona zu unternehmen (ca. 1h Fahrzeit). In der Wohnung waren Spülmaschine, Waschmaschine, ein Wäscheständer und Trockner vorhanden, was uns sehr gut gefallen hat. Die Kommunikation mit der Vermieterin hat gut funktioniert. Einem muss bewusst sein, dass unmittelbar vor der Haustür eine Bahnstrecke verläuft, mit dem Geräuschpegel ist man aber gut zurechtgekommen. Wir hatten einen schönen Aufenthalt.

Perfekte Kommunikation, Gastgeber war immer sehr gut erreichbar und hat immer prompt reagiert, Supermarkt und Bäckerei um die Ecke, gegenüber der Wohnung kostenfreie Parkplätze was für jemand mit Mietwagen sehr angenehm ist, insgesamt, insgesamt toller Aufenthalt! Danke

vue sympa sur la plage appartement tres spacieux et agreable. pas assez de materiel de cuisine , par exemple pas de plats pour mettre au four, pas de plats a salade .. pas de sel ni poivre , des petits plus agreables lors d'une arrivee.
