So sorry your soda froze in the freezer. If you would have let us know, we would have replaced it, or turned the freezer temperature down a little. Believe it or not, some folks love clawfoot tubs, a one-time experience! Otherwise hope you had a good stay.

Interesting review. This is the first really bad review in ten years we have been with VRBO. The peculiar thing is these guests called about a plumbing concern. We contacted a plumber who arrived immediately and verified there was no blockage or plumbing issue. The poor drainage in the tub proved incorrect therefore we do not agree with this issue. Strangely, we met some of their friends who visited with them and they loved the place . We would have been so pleased if they had let us know. they were unhappy, so we could find them alternative accommodation. The photos on line show the furniture quite well, and we do mention that the kitchen is next to the second bedroom which other guests have found acceptable. The "ice-box" is not a correct term as this utility is an extremely expensive under-counter refrigerator/freezer combination. We are mystified as to the musty odor as we use high quality janitorial materials. The unit contains some valuable antique furniture, and possibly this guest does not appreciate authentic European pieces.

Thanks for your review, Chris, however you got a few things wrong. 1.We paid extra to get a clawfoot tub however we are learning most people want a shower, so that will be in the future, but to say it was cheaply modified is incorrect, as construction costs are extremely high now. but after all that, he says there was no problem. 2. The access to the kitchen does have a double door to separate it from the bedroom, so not certain if he remembers that, but yes, there are doors to the kitchen from the bedroom. 3. We have a lot of utensils available but as we were not contacted by Chris so I have no idea what they needed -- for example a huge spaghetti pot? All they had to do was ask, but unfortunately people prefer to write out their negatives and put them on the internet, which doesn't help us hosts much. 4. Then he mentioned too much furniture but also not a big deal -- then why bring it up? 5. Yes, the mattresses were new and comfortable which is at least something to the good. Didn't get to meet these folks but hope they had a good time in spite of their issues.

Glad you had a good stay. If you prefer a really firm bed, there is a firm mattress under the topper which we use for people who like softer cushier beds. If you return, please let me know and I'll remove the topper. Thanks Adele

There might be some confusion here as there is a couch in the living room that pulls into a sofabed, so not sure what is meant by the non-couch. Glad they had a nice stay though.

Dear Molly: Sorry you didn't like the furniture, as it is very expensive, authetic mid-century and very collectible. It is not Ikea modern. The carpets are commercially cleaned on a regular basis. I personally checked the tub and found no mold or dust under the tub. Our maids are extremely thorough. As to the design of the bathroom, many people like the authenticity and comfort of the claw-foot tub. We are mystified regarding your assertion the king mattress was saggy. It was carefully inspected and found to be firm and supportive, as it is less than a year old. Based on the positive comments of our many repeat guests, I respectfully disagree with your evaluation.
