Agates, sunsets, yooperlites and polar plunge!
Can’t rave enough about the accommodations at Stella’s Hideaway! Everything was well stocked, clean and comfortable beds. The views were great, the rocks were even better! The location was perfect for checking out mine tailings and heading up to copper harbor. Calumet has a really tasty coffee shop and cute stores. We stayed for 4 nights and found lots of agates and even some lake worn copper to add to our ever growing rock collection. Sifted through mine tailings and found some greenstone knobbies. The teens loved the sauna and took their first Lake Superior polar plunge. We are already planning to stay again, we really loved the comfort of the home and it’s location. Thank you Keith for a great stay!

Annual Family Rockhounding trip
Stella’s Hideaway is the best place we’ve stayed at in the UP. Our family has been coming up to the UP in the spring for the past 5 years and have stayed at numerous VRBO homes in various states. This home was by far the best. It has everything you need in the home. It has plenty of bedrooms that made it perfect for our adult kids and our grandkids to have a room. It’s fully stocked and the owner provides a special bowl of MI made snacks. It’s very clean. The owner was very nice to deal with. And, we could bring our 2 little yorkies on vacation with us. I am familiar with the area, I knew which places we wanted to drive to. This home was in the perfect location for about a 20 mile drive to where we wanted to go. Being right on Lake Superior we were able to find the glowing stones there and on nearby beaches. Close to Copper Harbor and Seaman museum in Houghton and Jam Pot in Eagle Harbor. It’d be great to stay here during the warmer weather as they provide many kayaks, bikes, outdoor games. Would definitely stay here again.

Stella’s best hideaway
It was exactly what we needed and wanted in our getaway. Beautifully set on the shores of Superior. Lots of room in the house and on the beach. Will definitely be staying here again! Sauna is perfect as well for a little unwinding. The sounds of the waves put me right to sleep at night

Such an amazing place and the views are spectacular!!! Everything you need is all right there for you and you’re not too far from town if you need anything else! Don’t forget to try out the sauna, you will love it! We’ll definitely be back!!!!

Stay at Stella’s
Exactly what we needed. Warm and homey cottage with everything you could want or need. Private beach plus only a mile away from Calumet Water Works Beach- rock hunter’s paradise! We found agates, prehnite, quartz, jasper, rhyolite, amygdaloidal basalt, banded chert, yooperlites, and many others. Even though we had a lot of rain, we still went hiking in Gardners Nature area, Black River Sanctuary, and Horseshoe Harbor (which is beautiful). Sadly Brockway Mnt Rd was still closed for the season, but we did find a mineral store in Copper Harbor and bought a gorgeous piece of float copper. Always something to do in this area rain or shine. And so awesome to come home to Stella’s after a day of adventure! We will be coming back!

Beautiful Property
The property was easy to find and the view was gorgeous. Plenty of room for us and both of our kids to be together or get away from each other. Disappointed that there was no snow but the house had plenty of puzzles and games that we enjoyed. Communication with the property owner was excellent. Have already booked the next stay!

Another Wonderful Stay in the Keweenaw!
Thanks to Keith and his wonderful property for another successful annual trip to the Keweenaw. This year was much warmer and snow was lacking to say the least, but we made the best of it.

Wonderful stay
Stella’s Hideaway was great for our family trip to visit our son at Michigan Tech. The sauna and beach were awesome, and the location was convenient to Calumet. The home is stocked really well, and offered all the comforts of home.

Stella’s Hideaway ticks all the boxes
We had a wonderful time using Stella’s Hideaway as a base camp to explore the Keweenaw. It was exactly as described, with plenty of room for everyone. The house was clean and inviting. There were helpful notes about what to see and do both on the property and in the area. We are already discussing our next trip and how we will bring others with us to enjoy this beautiful home on the shore.

Perfect family get away
Beautiful setting on shores of Lake Superior. House is comfortable and clean. Kitchen is well stock with everything you need to cook and some pantry staples. Plenty of room to spread out. Plenty of essentials like soap, shampoo, hair dryers, beach towels. Nice assortment of recreational toys- bikes, kayaks,scooters, yard games. Our favorite vacation home. We already have reservations for our next stay.

Loved our stay!
My partner and I (and our dog!) loved our stay at Stella's Hideaway! I truly can't recommend the house enough. The view of the lake is breathtaking and the shore access was a treat. We also loved being able to easily walk to the local park and park trail. The kitchen was well stocked and had plenty of space. The hosts have done an incredibly thoughtful job creating an inviting and memorable place. We hope to return sooner rather than later!

Do not miss this rental! What a great place!
First off I have to say Keith really has an eye for detail , he has thought of everything! The house is equipped with everything you need from a great reading library to all the sporting goods you could want. The view is just incredible ,the house is very comfortable and inviting . There were even local goodies in a welcome basket and a bottle of wine , we went out and bought a bunch to take home (fudge pasties)! Keith lives next door but you would never know anybody is around it feels really private. All in all this is one of our favorite places we have stayed top notch all the way. Thank you Keith for everything we really enjoyed it !

This home was everything it was advertised to be AND MORE. Stella's Hideaway is a beautiful home right on the shore of Lake Superior. It was very clean, comfortable and cozy and had all the amenities you would have at home. There was also a great selection of books, games and outdoor activities available. It was a joy to wake up in the morning, after a very comfortable nights sleep, to those wonderful lake views. We can't wait to come back.

Perfect getaway by beautiful lake Superior
We had the most relaxing and comfortable stay in this home. The views are stunning, the house is beautiful, clean and there is everything you could possibly need. We loved walking in the park just up the road (Gardeners nature trails) and cross country skiing Sweedtown). The town of Calumet is only 10 minutes away and has nice bars and restaurants with super friendly service. We will be back as soon as we can!

Awesome place for famiky vacation
We, a family of 8, stayed for 3 nights. Plenty rooms, games, books for all age groups, from infant to senior. We enjoyed the winds and waves of the lake superior. Stary night without light polution is a memorable moment. Definitely I will revisit with my family!!

Peaceful lakefront property!
Keith was most helpful and accommodating, and even gave us the heads up on witnessing the most incredible northern lights show we’ve ever experienced! The sauna was peaceful and therapeutic, the views are amazing, and the Klask was epic! And the pups loved sniffing the freshest air on the planet.

Fiftieth Birthday Getaway
My husband wanted to get away from everything for a week for his birthday. When I found Stella’s online, I felt like it was perfect, and I was right. We loved Stella’s! We are already discussing another (longer) stay. The kitchen was well-stocked and well-equipped. The views were spectacular. Even though it rained for most of our trip, it was so peaceful and comfortable that we didn’t care. We just listened to the waves and used the sauna more. (=

Family Birthday Getaway
We have been to Stella's Hideaway several times and always enjoy. The house is perfect for our large family of 7 and has plenty of extras too! We enjoyed playing outside in the beautiful weather- laying in the hammock, riding the scooters, and enjoyed a campfire too. We will definitely be back again soon!

Our stay was outstanding in this fully supplied place. I don't think they left out anything someone might needl Lovely viewing of the stars and lake. Wow! to see God's amazing wonders was awesome. We didn't have time to do everything. Kitchen is small but very well supplied. But your on vacation and who wants to do a lot of kitchen work? to lay in bed and see the stars and lake and faint northern lights is such a treat!! Not far from a lovely beach and town for supplies. Looking forward to going back.

Fantastic view with everything you need
This property has everything to make your stay enjoyable. On calmer days we enjoyed the kayaks on the lake. Bike rides on the very lightly traveled roads. Meals outside on the picnic table. The many books and games. Raspberry and Thimbleberry picking nearby. The home furnishing and many of the books pay tribute to the UP heritage. Kitchen is well stocked. Convenient that the host allowed parking in the garage. Views of the lake from the living areas and master bedroom are fantastic. We enjoyed watching the weather develop and passing ships in the distance. Usable beach area below the stairs is small but more than sufficient for launching the kayaks. Less than 1 mile from Calumet Water Works Park and its large beach. 10 minutes to Calumet where we enjoyed the 1898 built theater and Jen's Country Kitchen pasties. We already made return plans for next year.

Multi generational vacation
Ages 4 to 65 had a great time at this very welcoming property. Games for everyone. Room to spread out. Kitchen is very well equipped. Comfy beds. Adults went out in the kayak . Great location to head to Houghton or Copper Harbor. Owner has made a point to highlight the upper peninsula magic and uniqueness. The little ones didn’t want to leave and the adults are already planning a trip back. (The seniors have 2 more weeks to enjoy this Beautiful property)

Unbelievable (in all the best ways)!
Keith is very easy to communicate with, and his house is so well appointed that you will find yourself needing nothing. The view out every window is beautiful, but the view from the master bedroom may cause a fight among multiple couples who stay. ;) You are close enough to town, but far enough away that you really get a chance to reset from your life. The sound of the waves, the sauna, the fire pit, the private beach area, the little decks with seating — so many reasons you won't want to leave.

Family get away
My wife and I took my daughter and grandkids on a Lake Superior vacation and this house was the perfect place for our stay. The location was great. It was close to the Waterworks park, hiking trails, a great off the shore fishing location, had gorgeous sunsets, campfires and family time. We were able to travel into Calumet when needed to eat and shop and explored the Keeweenaw Peninsula. We fell asleep to the sounds of the waves and the cool breeze through the windows. We can’t wait to come back!
