Great place awesome views
We really enjoyed the stay here. I liked how it was secluded into the forest and every window had views of the trees and deers really close drive to the coastal access! The kitchen was well equipped and the house was really clean. The highway sound wasn't bad at all but I like a little noise when I sleep. Overall I'm really happy with the decision I made because I was going back and forth on hotel or house and this was a great decision. So much wildlife :)

The house was beautiful and well equipped but there were a few areas that put a damper on our stay. The house has 3 stories with the entrance on the top floor and the bedroom with a bathroom was on the bottom floor which was difficult to climb every day since we have arthritis in our knees. I had live our of my suitcase because there were not enough empty hangers.

Restful Retreat

great stay!
We arrived on the Friday after 4pm and departed on Monday after 10 am. We really enjoyed our stay; the house is comfy and well-equipped (with good central heating that was necessary). This house in the woods is a great, cozy family home with lots of character. It has 3 levels: one bedroom upstairs, a kitchen-sitting room with a terrace and shower room in the middle, and downstairs a small bedroom with an ensuite bathroom and another terrace overlooking the woods Lots of stairs but we loved it, except for the road. With some music to cover it, it's ok. Very quiet at night. We will certainly come back!

Fun family stay
We loved our week stay. The house was so cute and we loved where it was. Only a few things to point out. The cobwebs and spiders have over run the house. Which is to be expected it’s in a wooded area and also only used as a vaca house. But the cleaning team should wipe those out every so often. With that, there are also a lot of cameras around the outside of the house. We felt very uncomfortable going outside like we were being watched all the time, And lastly you are not informed of the hwy being right behind the house until you get the check in paperwork. They give option to cancel once you get the check in paperwork but we drove 9hrs and there was no way of finding a place that quick. So we had to just deal with the noise. But otherwise the say was great.

Great getaway!
Charming house and property nested in the trees above Highway 1 with all you need for a getaway and enjoy nature! Close to downtown Cambria but slightly out of the way! Wende was quick to respond to any question we had and we really enjoyed staying there!

Wonderful Getaway
We spent a long weekend here. The location is great, easy access to the coastal towns, and Cambria is a cool little town. Communication with the owner was easy and quick. We had no issues at all. We would definitely stay here again.

We will be back!
This adorable house is tucked on a hill in the forest on a dirt road. The outdoor decks off the living room and master bedroom are covered so when we arrived we were able to sit outside and watch the sun, rain and rainbow! We spent most of our time on the deck. Two things I didn't see in other reviews that are most important to me. The water pressure is amazing and the beds are soooo comfortable. The house is equipped with everything you will need to be comfortable. The instructions to operate everything were spot on. The real fun was the heated toilet seat! We are getting one. lol! We had planned to go out for my husbands birthday but decided we were too comfortable there. We ate in everyday! The kitchen is fully stocked. More than most vrbo rentals. Wende was wonderful! She answered my emails and texts right away. Sweet is an understatement. You can tell they appreciate the work her father did making his home. The outside garden area is so pretty! Our dogs loved the layered yard and stepping stones everywhere. It's totally fenced in so we didn't have to worry about other creatures. When it was time to go we had to chase one of our dogs down to the first level and carry her out. She wanted to stay as much as we did! I highly recommend this place for a get away. We loved it! Cambria is one of our favorite places to run away from the bay area to. Thank you Wende for having us!

Beautiful Home
It was a wonderful stay, the home is beautiful, well furnished, and clean. The neighborhood is quiet, and a short drive to shops and restaurants. I would definitely stay there again.

Great place!
We really enjoyed our stay. The house was very comfortable and perfectly placed. Very easy to go into the town of Cambria and to moonstone beach. Great place to relax. I would highly recommend this little gem.

Second Time's The Charm

Enchanting & cozy house in the woods!
We loved staying at this enchanting and cozy house. Everything was so well organized and comfortable. Kitchen had everything we needed! We had a great time visiting the surrounding area, Cambria Village, Fiscalini Nature Preserve, Hearst Castle and the elephant seals.

Beautiful and functional house on the coast
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We had been travelling for three weeks when we arrived. It was by far the nicest place we stayed on the trip. We especially appreciated the well equipped kitchen to prepare our own meals. Even the knives were sharp. We did not have to use the ones we travel with. Plus the beds were the most comfortable for the trip. Besides being functionally great, the house itself is gorgeous inside and out. The views are amazing. We are coming back to this place!

Spectacular One-of-a-Kind Home
This unique home is situated on a steep hillside, by a trailhead for the Fiscalini Preserve. It is within walking distance of the lovely downtown area of Cambria and the breathtaking bluffs of the preserve. The home is very comfortably appointed, and each of the three levels offers amazing views from floor to ceiling windows. We love to cook, and the kitchen had everything we needed. Cambria was one stop on our road trip from San Francisco to LA, and we thoroughly enjoyed our three nights in this lovely home. We easily communicated with our host, who provided detailed information about the home and the Cambria area. We would definitely stay here again.

UNIQUE HOME
Overall very good. Additional tasks planned for downstairs bedroom will improve desire to stay at property again. Plan to relax and enjoy being away from all of the daily distractions such as TV and social media. Outside decks very relaxing. Short walk via local trail to downtown area.

Thanks for staying at our home, Joe! I appreciate your assistance during your stay. We have removed the carpet and replaced it with linoleum flooring, and the issue has (thankfully) been rectified. Relaxing Getaway
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The house was amazing, very comfortable and truly relaxing. This is one of the best equipped VRBO's we have ever stayed in. The location was perfect, the house is perched on a hillside, surrounded by beautiful pine trees, with easy access to Fiscalini Ranch Preserve trails and it is just a short distance to downtown. We can't wait to go back for another relaxing stay. Thanks Wende, you are a great host!

Cambria stay
We were very happy with this home, nice and clean, felt welcomed by the host. Host checked in to make sure all was well. The location was great, in a quiet, safe feeling neighborhood. Would recommend this property to anyone wanting to spend time in the area, very convenient.

Wonderful stay
We had a great stay at this house deep in the trees in Cambria. The house, three stories, was a marvel of engineering. Entry was at the top floor with two twin beds, down to the main level, and down again to the master bedroom. A bit of a challenge with my bad ankle. We could hear the chimes as we sat on the deck and the owls in the evening. Days were cool and delightful, mornings had mist and fog. A great getaway for people escaping the heat or crowds.

Quiet and comfortable
Lovey stay at the comfortable home perched in the wooded hillside. Plenty of room for me, my mom and my sister. It was a quiet mother-daughter getaway. We enjoyed the cute and flower filled downtown, and hikes on the coast. Lots of stairs in the home which might be hard with small children or elderly guests, but it was perfect for us.
