Traditional & Comfortable Italian Apartment in stunning town
Cannero Riveria is a beautiful town on Lago Maggorie boasting a beach and both a new and old harbour too. This three bed apartment has room for one car in the drive, and is spacious, comfortable beds and functional. It has all the charm you would want from an Italian villa and the balcony has views of the mountains and the lake from a distance. There was a modern tv and wifi setup, the photos we booked with were showing much a older tv. It was a fairly quiet location, no issue with the garden centre noise but the church bells may wake you.The beach is a fairly easy walk, maybe 15 minutes down the back streets or even accessible by driving. There's a beautiful grotto at the bottom part of the church which is magical.Intra is lovely and is a short drive or busride, remember shops shut at lunchtimes so time your shopping visit for the morning OR afternoon, and for gelato please make a special trip to a place called Gelato d'altri tempi in Intra, Verbania which has been around since the 1980s and I have visited since I was a child. Tip: get a takeaway tub!If you are confident driving hills, you must visit Ristorante Usignolo which is great food at great price. And Wonderwoods is worth visiting for climbing.There's a little market in Cannero on a friday, much bigger Cannobio market is Sunday and Luino is Wednesday. Ferry to get there (bus runs to/from Cannobio as well). It was our first time staying at Casa Iva, Marina was very helpful and we hope to stay again.
