The perfect getaway!
We had a wonderful week in Cape Breton Island exploring the Cabot Trail and the area surrounding the Beach House. We learned of the history of New-Campbellton and the Cape Dauphin driving and walking the gravel road, and learned even more when taking the Bird Islands tour that passes directly in front of the cottage. The house has a fantastic view, from its porch and from the beach. We took a couple of hours walking the beach where we saw a couple of seals peaking their heads out of the water. The cottage was very clean and had everything we needed for our stay there. Thanks Richard for being a part of this wonderful week spent in our very first visit to Nova-Scotia!

Great perch at water's edge
The location is stunning -- right above a private beach with direct access to both sea swimming and freshwater swimming. Lovely breezes off the water. Easy access to Baddeck and the Cabot Trail. Tara and Anabella, who were staying right next door, could not have been more accommodating -- providing everything we needed and checking on us often to make sure things were good. The house is compact, but very well planned and laid out. We had a delightful stay.

Perfect for nature
We had a wonderful time staying at this secluded spot in Cape Dauphin. The house looks out over a lake, an inlet and the ocean, so we saw so many interesting birds. We saw eagles nearly every day, and all kinds of other birds. The kids had a lot of fun walking the beach and picking up rocks. The house was very clean and had all the things we needed. The hosts were beyond attentive, and easy to reach as they live right next door.

Hospitable Host!
The house was amazing! So clean and had everything we needed and such comfy beds. So thankful to Richard, our wonderful host who came to our rescue when our original VRBO was cancelled last minute. He went above and beyond to help us. Was quick to respond and helpful with questions about the area. Highly recommend this beautfiul location. Stunning views.

Peaceful getaway
The Beach House was beautifully appointed and we had everything that we needed for a peaceful getaway. Such a lovely location with stunning views and the sound of the water lapping up against the shore left us all feeling much more relaxed than we were when we arrived. Thanks for a great experience.

The beach house was located on a beautiful property. The view was lovely and it was very quiet. The accommodation was a bit over priced and the kitchen could have been better stocked.

Peace and quiet overlooking the water
Great spot for peace and quiet, a few miles down a dirt road from the highway. Steps away from the sea and a quiet lagoon with beaver and duck families. We could easily spend a couple hours each day talking slow walks up and down the beach. The house was comfortable and well-equipped. We had no trouble cooking meals, doing laundry, finding things to watch on TV, using wifi, and most of all just enjoying our surroundings. Take care with windows and screens so bugs don't get in. Approx. 30 minutes to Baddeck or groceries in North Sydney. 90 minutes to Ingonish and National Park.

We had a great time at the cottage, loved the views, the driving distance to the Cabot trail or the Louisbourg fort, we fit a lot in. Richard was a great host, very responsive. One of the heating elements on the water heater broke and before we got back from a trip he had it fixed. Thank you for a great Cape Breton experience.

This location gives you a beautiful, scenic view of the water from the living room/kitchen, deck, and 2nd floor loft. It has access to a small beach. The house is new, has lots of natural light and makes the best use of a relatively compact space. It's worth noting that access to the loft is more like a ladder than stairs, but it has its own half bath. Access to groceries and gas are 20 - 30 minutes from this location, but it's worth the drive.

Great waterfront location
We had a fabulous time staying at Richard’s cute cottage in Cape Dauphin. The house is located several miles down a gravel road, so it feels quiet and somewhat remote. It is perched on a hill overlooking both the ocean and a fresh-water pond, with easy access down to the beach. We loved exploring the beach and were endlessly entertained by the myriad of animal activities on the pond. There were geese, ducks, beavers, seagulls, deer, foxes, and even an eagle. The house is on the small side, but suited our family of four just fine. We loved our stay in Cape Dauphin and would happily stay at this house again.

Beautiful Location
The cottage is perched on a hill with a rocky beach just a short walk away. There is a neighboring rental cottage nearby, but it was very quiet and private. It was sparkling clean and the cottage had everything we needed. The sunsets were gorgeous and cottage was very comfortable. We had a lovely stay and would come back in an instant!

Very much enjoyed our visit at this sparkling new beach house. Richard was very easy to work with, relaxed and at the ready. The shared space (we were 4) is cozy but as others have mentioned the view is exceptional. There is a short mown path to the beach and long walks call you either there or on the quiet road behind the cottage. Gorgeous spot in the fall.

Adorable little cottage, very comfortable and peaceful, nice views.
I loved the cottage, but the trees have grown up, so you couldn't see the view very well. The owner needs to top all of the small trees so the beautiful view can be seen as shown in the photos.

Gorgeous Views!!
New, clean cottage on Dauphin Bay with kitchen, dining and living area (all one room), one bedroom with a double bed and upstairs loft with 3 twin beds. Large windows with views. The owner’s family is closeby and ready to provide assistance. As advertised, it’s remote, but Cape Breton is remote, and stunningly beautiful. (No Wifi, off of a long dirt road, and right next to the large summer home.) We enjoyed our stay!
