It's a beautiful quiet property and it's beautifully maintained. We spent a lot of time relaxing around the pool and enjoying the view of the beautiful mountains.

I stayed here for 7 nights and paid for an AC room, but the AC was not working from the second night. The room was extremely hot and suffocating, and the fan was ineffective. We could not sleep properly for multiple nights. What is unacceptable is that this was never informed to us in advance. Instead of taking responsibility or offering any compensation or solution, the host and his wife tried to convince us that AC was not required. After we complained, their behavior became rude and unfriendly, which made us feel very uncomfortable and unwelcome. If you are charging for an AC room, you must provide it or compensate the guest. Guests are paying for comfort, not to adjust and suffer. Very disappointing experience. Lack of transparency, poor customer service, and no accountability. I would not recommend this place. What is most unacceptable is that they never informed us in advance about the AC problem. If you are charging for an AC room, you must provide that facility or inform guests beforehand and adjust the price accordingly. Guests pay for comfort and honesty, not to adjust and suffer in silence. Overall, the property has potential, but the lack of transparency, poor handling of the situation, and unfriendly behavior after the complaint made our experience very disappointing. I would not recommend this place to anyone who expects professional service and basic comfort.

Eine ältere Dame und wir waren die einzigen Gäste. Aufgrund der eingestaubten Möbel hatten wir den Eindruck, dass das sehr abgelegene Guesthouse nur selten gebucht wird. Das Frühstück war mäßig aber noch okay. Wir fühlten uns sehr unwohl und reisten Vorzeit ab, sodass wir eine bezahlte Nacht verfallen liessen.

Peter and Carola were 1st class hosts, Nothing was too much trouble, excellent local knowledge of places to eat and visit. Even organised a bbq were we met all the other guests for what was a great social evening. Would definitely recommend this accommodation to anyone looking to stay in the area.

Sehr zu empfehlen !!

Sehr schöne Unterkunft auf einem wunderschönen Grundstück. Ausgesprochen gepflegt und sauber , große Zimmer, tolles Frühstück und ausgesprochen herzliche Vermieter . Gerne wieder ! ! Sehr zu empfehlen für Ausflüge rund um Kapstadt!

Five star guesthouse.

We have stayed in many guest houses on this trip and this one is right up with the best, of the N 2 and very well sign posted, don’t be put of by the gravel road on the approach to the property, this is a plus, it’s quiet, surrounded by farm land and the mountains. Excellent guesthouse,large well appointed rooms with sitting area and veranda, at least our room had, very clean in every way, excellent very large comfortable bed. Breakfasts were really good, cereals, fresh fruit, hams and cheese to choose from plus fresh baked bread, then you have a very good choice for your cooked breakfast. Perfect hosts,Peter and his wife make you really feel at home, more than attentive to all our needs, we stayed four nights and wish we had booked longer, it’s so central to visiting many places in this area.

Home away from home

We were made to feel very welcome and comfortable from the beginning of our stay until the end. Pete and Carola made sure we had everything we needed, and gave us free reign of the guest house. They were interested in us, our visit and, made recommendations of areas to visit. Breakfast was fantastic with a continental style, as well as a fully cooked breakfast made to order each morning. Guest house was in close proximity to Stellenbosch, Cape Town, Hermanus, Somerset West and Gordan's Bay with a wide selection of local restaurants to visit. The room was spacious and comfortable. The service was excellent at all times.We look forward to a return visit in the future and would recommend this guest house to all.

Nous avons séjourné une nuit dans deux très agréables chambres j’ai préféré la bleue 😉accueillis très chaleureusement par notre hôtesse, la piscine c’etait un peu tard mais un plus pour ceux qui ont le temps. Bon conseils d’excellents restaurants alentours et délicieux et très copieux petits déjeuners. Prévenance du maître de maison qui nous raccompagne avec nos bagages jusqu’à notre voiture garée dans un parking très protégé les environs étants un peu déserts.

Ruhige Oase, abseits vom Zentrum

Mit Navi schwierig zu finden. Tipp: Auf der N2 bei der Shell-Tankstelle abbiegen, anschliessend ist es gut ausgeschildert. Zimmer sind sehr geräumig, mit schöner Sitzecke. Freundliches Paar betreibt das Gasthaus und gibt gerne Tipps, z.B für Restaurants in der Umgebung. Das einzige Mal in 2 1/2 Wochen Südafrika, wo wir Viecher (Ameisen) im Zimmer hatten. Da wir nur eine Nacht geblieben sind, war‘s halb so wild.

Hier hält man es auch schon mal etwas länger aus

Bei diesem Gästehaus mit schöner Gartenanlage wurde an alles gedacht. Liebevolle Details auch beim Frühstück. Zentrale Lage, d.h. relativ kurze Wege nach Kapstadt, zum Kap, zum Flughafen und man ist praktisch schon im Weingebiet. Gewöhnungsbedürftig war die direkte Umgebung mit sogar 2 Sicherheitspassagen.

A very welcoming "Oasis"

We thoroughly enjoyed our five night stay with Peter and Carola at Wind-Rose. They are very welcoming and caring hosts in a very pretty and comfortable guest house with excellent accommodation. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and well appointed with every attention to detail, and the general facilities are excellent. The breakfast area, lounge and garden were the best we experienced on our trip to South Africa, and the pool was a welcome bonus in the hot weather for the families staying there. The hosts and staff treated us like family and were very helpful with advice about local visits, restaurants, etc. The breakfasts were perfect- plenty of variety and all we could eat. We will definitely stay at Wind Rose again if we return to the Cape. (Do not be put-off by the look of the areas approaching the house, drive through to find a real Oasis!)

Outstanding levels of friendly service.

For us, this guest house was an oasis of calm relaxation. The welcome from Carola and Peter was exceptional and much appreciated. Our room was huge, cool, nicely decorated, very comfortable bed. English style Breakfasts were well cooked, tasty, and we loved the optional pancakes. We were allowed to book a half stay on our departure such that we could relax by the pool, in the beautiful gardens, before catching a late flight to UK. The Wind-rose shampoo is now my favourite. We are telling friends about Wind-rose. For other hoteliers there is a lot to learn here.

Schönes Guesthouse mit tollen Gastgebern

Sehr schönes neu eingerichtetes Deluxezimmer, Frühstück war sehr gut mit frischem Obst und frisch zubereiteten Eierspeisen. Idealer Ausgangspunkt für Ausflüge nach Stellenbosch, Kapsatdt, False Bay, Hermanus usw. Die Gastgeber sind super nett und hilfsbereit und geben tolle Tipps für Ausflüge.

Spaciousness and beautiful views

This place it perfect for the act of unwinding! The guest house offers lots of space and big rooms, great views over the bay and a very nice garden with pool area. The owners are very open and caring, friendly and generous. We got some great advice for our onwards journey towards the Garden Route area. The location is in the middle of the open landscape, surrounded in the back by beautiful mountain ridges and the ocean in front. It's just a short drive away from Gordon's Bay.
