Lovely room, clean cosy, bath tub is fabulous staff are great., The mushroom risotto for dinner is really good. Would definitely stay again.

The way to go from Queenstown to Cardrona was up-down hills and so many curves. It was little scary but it is worth to stay and experience!

A thoroughly enjoyable stay at this unique property. Large comfortable rooms, excellent food and friendly staff. Cardrona is an experience not to be missed. We especially loved sitting outside in the sunny grass area on the bean bags and when it cooled moved to the indoor fire place for a meal.

Great big room with comfy bed. Location is unique on its own in the Cardrona pass with exceptional views on the drive to it.

Wonderful location, full of character, helpful staff, option of bar food or restaurant, reasonable prices, only slight criticisms are no air conditioning (not even a fan) and a (very) old tv! Overall an excellent stay though!!

We had a wonderful stay in a family room. The room was so welcoming and comfortable. The surrounding gardens show how much care is taken with the hotel and the food options were superb.

We enjoyed a lovely stay at this charming hotel. We loved the beautiful gardens and friendly atmosphere. The hot tub was a nice surprise after hiking all day.

A lovely, quirky property with good meals and excellent service. Very nice rooms, although could do with some gardening as difficult to get upstairs to rooms with all the roses and growth on the stairs. Also, not suitcase friendly with gravel from the car park. A bit of regular maintenance could sort these issues easily.

Was recommended this place from a friend. It may be for some folks but not for us. The rooms were very plain but ok I guess. Walls thin so we could hear all other residents till after 10:00. Room Was not ready at 3:00. No way to carry heavy suitcases upstairs except a two tier set of steps. Couldn’t figure out if it had a/c or just open the windows until it got cold. The worst thing was the food. We are from the USA and saw southern fried chicken and Mexican nachos. Without a doubt the worst meal I have ever had in years. We left the table after a few bites and rode 25 min away to Wanaka to a gas station to keep from starving. Just a very bad experience. If you’re a biker, drink beer and have a change of clothes, this is your place. Otherwise I wouldn’t go back if it was free for the weekend

Our kind of place! Lovely character, great food, great staff, beautiful gardens and bird life, amazing character Well priced too Accomodating for vegan food also which I appreciated A vegetarian kids dinner option would be great also

Thanks for your kind feedback, Krysta. We change our menus frequently and have a penne pasta with Napoli sauce, as well as a half portion of our nachos on our summer kids menu. Both meals are vegetarian. We hope to welcoming you again in the future!

This is an iconic place that some may drive by, some may stop and take some pictures, but only those that go inside will understand just how special this place is. We stayed the night and had the best dinner of our two week trip in NZ! And the bar is a classic with great beer, wine and cocktails made from local sprits like the Source Gin.

This is a great little hotel and turned out to be one of the highlights of our trip. The restaurant is a little expensive and we were never really sure if our room number was 12A or 13, but aside from those quibbles it had a great vibe, was very comfortable and cozy, and the location was ideal, a fairly easy (and dramatic) drive to Queenstown one way and Wanaka the other! Highly recommend it.

Have stopped at the Hotel many times during the day. The setting and ambience is superb and have always thought it would be nice to stay for a night. The room was clean but somewhat spartan.The restaurant meals were ok but nothing special. Staff were fine. Love the fireplace setting both indoors and outdoors. Would I stay again - probably not Would I stop again for a coffee and delicious scone - definitely.
