Stayed here with 10 work colleagues and had an amazing time. As one staff member put it "This place is Legit". Our team enjoyed cooking together in the spacious and well appointed kitchen, nightly bonfires, pizza in the outdoor woodfired oven, comfortable beds, walking the expansive property, talking with the owner, and so much more. It was a real treat getting to stay here.

This is the most interesting and beautiful place I've rented. It was hand built by the owner over 10 years with pieces collected from around the world over the course of his lifetime. It is magnificent! Make sure to read the articles and books about the place. So cool!

Most places are all about the inside of the home, this property is amazing both inside and outside. We spent more of our time outside cooking and sitting by the many different fire pits that were all stocked with firewood. The pizza oven was so much fun, I am building one just like it for my house. The location is close to everything you may need or want to explore. Thank you!!

We enjoyed the house as everyone’s rooms were spread out and gave each privacy. Beautifully decorated and much detail throughout. Loved the indoor and outdoor kitchens as one of our family members is a fine dining chef and we all enjoy cooking. The wood sauna and soaking tub was a huge hit with our family as well the outdoor patios and fire pits to gather around.

I cannot state strongly enough how magical this property is. My family and I rented the house as a hub for a reunion with extended family and friends in California who we hadn't seen since before Covid. We wanted a space where we could gather, eat, drink, and play with our kids. This house more than delivered! From the fascinating art to the dozens of fire pits to the sauna, hot tubs, and pizza oven, there was magic at every turn. Since leaving everyone from the grandparents to the toddler has been talking about wanting to come back. Peterson Conway made this vacation and reunion utterly magic. Thank you.

We stayed here for 4 nights with both sides of the family for our son's 2nd birthday. There was ample space for 11 people and the house and grounds were as described and in the pictures. Peterson and team organized a pizza party for us our first night there. The whole crew enjoyed the food and being able to hang out in the backyard while ordering their own pizzas. We would definitely stay here again.

It is a beautiful and fascinating place to stay! We were a party of 12 ranging from 5 to 75 years. Everyone loved it. There is plenty to do and enjoy at the house and it is literally minutes to either Carmel or Monterey. Our host, Peterson, greeted us when we arrived and was fun, friendly and helpful. Wonderful trip!!

Words and pictures cannot capture the majesty of Hacienda Aguajito. The house is incredible and spacious and comfortable. The property is massive and there is so much to explore. You could spend a month there and still not see everything in and out of the house. But possibly the best part is the owner Peterson. Take the time to get to know him and let him tell you about his amazing house and history. He is easily the best host ever. He clearly loves this house and is so excited to share it with others. We got married while we were here and this house turned a great wedding into the most magical experience I can imagine.

Amazing property for a small group retreat. Very unique and lots of places to lounge. On our final night we were making pizzas in the outdoor oven and sitting by the fire pit overlooking the mountains and Pacific. Very cool Japanese soaking tubs and sauna as well. The host of the property has a separate villa on property and was there to assist very quickly in any small issues. He was a joy to spend time with and really treated us like we were guests in his home. He also helped make pizza and showed us how it was done! A great property and we hope to return!

5 couples came to this property and from the moment we started up the drive to the property the flowering landscaping, sculptures and expansive views took our breath away. and it only got better from there. this property is perfectly close to Carmel and isolated. The house is so carefully crafted, everything you need, every detail is worth a story. You have to stay here a week to see everything. Beds are comfy, everything is clean and upkept beautifully. we will be back

Quick review: Amazing, Exotic, and grand. This Villa had it all. If you can book this, it is worth every penny. Long review: We stayed at the Villa for our wedding weekend. We did not have the wedding at the Villa. We had the wedding at a Church in Pacific Grove and the reception in the Monterey. When we arrived we were welcomed by Peterson with a personable dog and majestic parrot. There was even horse at the front gate. The room accommodations were perfect for the 12 total guest they were housing. The entire villa is very exotic and was fascinating to look at at every inch of the home. The Master suite was amazing as it was its own living space/office downstairs and grand bedroom and restroom upstairs. The separate suite was a nice touch and perfectly housed guests. The kitchen and dining area was very grand and held all guest with ease. The music in the room is a nice touch controlling it from a computer inside. The backyard was so very impressive with the wood burning fire pits to the tepees way back. Only minor negative is the estate is rather older, so don't expect a modern feel. May be a bit dusty, creeky, and a bit creepy to some. Ultimately it is absolutely amazing. If you want a stay with an adventure attached, book this lovely estate.

The hacienda is fascinating. Each room provides so much to explore and the property is really a special piece of land. First the good: The kitchen area and outdoor patio are fantastic for gathering, as others have commented. There were only four of us for a guys golf trip to Pebble Beach, but there's enough space to accommodate a very large family. Kitchen is well appointed for cooking. Bedrooms are exactly as described in the photos. If you're looking for an interesting interior to explore, this is your place. The Not-So-Good: The hacienda is starting to show its age and in need of repairs. The advertised hot tub was broken and appeared to have been out of operation for a while. The on/off button was duct taped over and weathered. Given that it was turned off, it was far from hot. On a golf trip with a guy who had back surgery last year, this was a must in our property criteria. We would not have rented here had we been told the hot tub was broken. The basin of the picturesque wood burning outdoor soaking tub is rusted/coated with grime. It would have been an alternative to the hot tub until one looked inside. And, the only large television in the home (theater room) did not work during our stay. The advertised teepee had also been taken down. Additionally, there a very large dog (approx 100lbs) freely roaming the property at all times. He's friendly enough to not bite, but also isn't afraid to bark at you. Our last night on the property, he barked for a couple of hours as he wondered the property in the middle of the night. Made for a long night before our early morning departure to catch our flight back in San Jose. Finally, other renters showed up and began to use the wood burning sauna on our last evening there. They had apparently rented a casita somewhere on property? However, they had set up in the spa room and started using the property. Given that we hadn't been told anyone else would be renting the hacienda or any other buildings somewhere on the property, it was quite surprising. They had parked their van past our cars in the driveway and started to make themselves at home. I contacted the property owner who, apparently, found them somewhere else to stay. Not 100% sure as my text messages after our initial conversation went unanswered. They were gone when we got back from dinner. Who knows. Overall, a decent place to stay. But, I can't support the 5 star reviews that helped convince me to rent this property.

10 minutes to monterey and carmel. Truly a great location for everything. We played golf 5 days and it was easy to get around. The house was one of the nicest places we have ever stayed and Peterson was the perfect host.
