Location of this property is great! An included parking spot is a plus as street parking is limited due to the small streets. It's located close to everything you might want to do in the area.My only suggestion is to change the shower liner more often - the one there while we stayed had mildew/mold build up (eh it happens), but it didn't dampen our weekend at all. Great place overall!
We enjoyed are stay. The place was exactly as advertised. It was well appointed and the bed was comfortable. We enjoyed walking into town. Carmel is stunning.
My husband and I booked the Quaint Bungalow for our Anniversary and it was just what we needed. More affordable than a hotel with nice privacy. Quiet neighborhood with friendly neighbors, convenient parking, a short distance from downtown and Hwy 1. All the amenities you need for two guests and plenty of space. Check in was easy and the property manager was quick to respond. The space itself was simple but clean and comfortable. Great stay!
Very cute studio with everything you'll need for a comfortable stay, including a super comfy couch. There were even some coffee pods to get us through the first morning! It's a bit far from downtown so a car is generally necessary, but it's a short drive. Also we came on an unusually hot week and it was really hot inside the apartment, but they provide a fan to help a bit.
Everything was clean and functional. Sitting on the couch, I loved the view of an old oak tree draped in lichen. Climbing into the bed made me feel like a kid again building a fort! Super quiet neighborhood

Not as advertised
The pictures are not true. This is not cozy or quaint. The bed is inaccessable as it is jammed into an alcove. The table is not as pictured but it is a toy metal thing. TV is only streaming it is Rocu. No local weather or news. If you walk into town do it in the daytime as there are no sidewalks only a limited dirt path. Kitchen supplies look as if they were meant to go to Goodwill and there are no cereal bowls.Lacking towels but we had a few more delivered even though they looked recycled. Overall unit was illequiped.
Location of the property was nice and convenient including parking. However, TV was marginally operative along with the Internet and microwave didn’t work at all. Need better toilet paper and extra towels since there’s no way to wash them.

Way too small. Of all the VRBO places we have stayed this was the worst.

Unsatisfactory
At first impression this property was clean and well enough appointed and in a great area. However, when we checked in the heater had been left on low during a heat wave and without AC and no window screens, or lockable screen door, this unit was impossible to cool off for sleeping. The hot water heater turned off mid-stay and the provided cooking pans were dirty. The worst part was that the property managers kept promising to speak with the local team and we never heard back, no matter how many times we called or emailed. Also it should be written in the description that the bed is inaccessible for anyone with mobility issues. We will not stay here again.
The property is exactly as it is in the pictures. Nice livingroom/kitchen area, sleeping "nook" with a comfy bed and feather pillows, full sized bathroom with shower/tub combo. Kitchen includes a mini dishwasher, mini fridge (freezer? Its called the artic king and all our stuff froze so maybe it is supposed to be a freezer) coffee pot, stove. Theres a big TV on the wall in the appliance nook opposite the couch (we didnt use) and a small table & chairs for 2. A small coat closet by the front door, and some drawers/bins outside the bathroom door for stashing some of your stuff. If you have a lot of luggage, there isnt a lot of space beaides floor/couch for it, so keep that in mind. My husband and I each had 2 bags and were fine, but did give up a little couch and floor space for them. There are outlets in the nook by the bed, but no shelves for phones, c-pap machines etc. You can slide a phone along side the mattress or leave next to your head.
Generally, fairly quiet but could hear occasional noise (tv, coughing) from main residence, but generally was unobtrusive.
If you're looking for a home base for yourself /a couple while you explore Monterey and surrounding areas, you've found a good spot.
This property has terrible management. We got there at 4 pm and the lockbox did not work. Management called us about 7 pm with the right code. There is NO bedroom. It has a bed in a closet space with walls right up to the mattress on 3 1/2 sides. So you have a small space you have to crawl into to get to bed. Good luck if you need to go to the bathroom at night.
My husband had to sleep on the couch. They had a small refrigerator we put our glass bottle drinks in. That ended being a freezer. Broke all our glass bottles. The place was advertised for at one price per night but came to a great higher price after the management fees and taxes. Next time I’ll stay at a hotel it would have been half the price per night. I could go on but I think you get the point.
If you’re looking for a small and easy place to stay in Carmel then this place will be perfect for you!

Decent place to lay your head
Very small, which we knew going in. Just in town for the week and needed a place to sleep. The good: Great neighborhood, super close to town, stores, etc. The bad: Not as up to date as listing would have you velieve. Some poor finish carpentry on the interior, ineffective use of space, bathroom shower head sprays out on to the floor. Property owner is very friendly and welcoming. Wifi is not up to par, as it was barely enough to eun youtube. Not a bad place to sleep, but not worth the money in my humble opinion.
