Apartment steps from the beach

A comfortable condo close to a wonderful beach with amazing sunsets. Short walking distance to the The Spot with the best burgers & fun Island Brewing. We very much enjoyed our visit.

A Block From Heaven
4-1/2 STARS. My 64 year old eyes required a flashlight to enter the lock box code due to the dimly lit hallway. Deadbolt key easy to copy and no lock-chain on door. Small studio. Comfortable bed with soft-mattress. Cramped bathroom. Fast WiFi at 314Mbps. Needs a work light over the kitchen sink (no dishwasher). Filthy banister on the communal stairway. Spa wasn't very hot. AND ONE BLOCK FROM A GREAT BEACH AND PARK!

Well it was a great place and location. This place is not suited for larger or shall I say fluffy people. The toilet area was way too tight and the bed was too soft for our liking. I felt that the couch was going to break. I thought the legs were going to come out from under it. Price range was great but will be booking another place for next year.

great spot by the beach
This is a small (450 sq ft) apt with a recessed area for the bed and closet (right by the front door when you walk in). Plenty kitchen gadgets, towels, beach items etc. The location is fabulous as it is less than 1/2 block from the beach. The secure parking is a super plus. The negatives: bed is too soft (seriously) and the couch too hard. But that is a personal preference. Had a slight glitch in that when we arrived, the apt had not been cleaned. Called Chris and he had the cleaning crew there within 20 minutes (3 of them for this small apt) so it was well cleaned within 1 hour after our call. And Chris gave us a small discount for this snafu which was very gracious. Overall - I would recommend staying here if there are just two of you.

Good location place needs updated
First the good: Location was great Well Stocked (especially TP) Had boogie boards and beach chairs The not so good: Unit needs a deep cleaning, floors/walls Bed was way too soft and taco-y Couch was SO squeaky Unit could use updating (blinds, furnishings, linens/towels, basically everything) Bikes were very rusty - wouldn’t try it. Pretty good communication and quiet place near the beach. Although the beaches in Santa Barbara are way nicer. Would probably stay there next time.

Diane called three or four times after arriving. We took all her calls and answered all her questions: "Where is the condo?", "Where do we park"?, "Where's the unit", "Where is the heating system?". One of the bikes is brand new. She must have missed that. The place was completely remodeled 3 years ago. New blinds were installed last year. We rotate out old linens with new ones regularly. We do our best to satisfy everyone's expectations.

Great location!
Great stay one block from the beach and walking distance to all the shopping and testy in downtown Carp. Bed was very comfortable. I recommend sleeping with white noise as the walls to the building are thin and you can hear people coming and going. Also, there is no full length mirror😬

Quick walk to the beach
This was a clean and cozy condo for our stay in Carpenteria. The beach was close and we were able to get around to most places by walking. It would have been helpful to have more clear instructions on the TV and info about the laundry room location, but all in all this was a nice place to stay.

3 Night in Carp
We really enjoyed our stay at Chris’s condo. The location was amazing! Basically right across the street from the beach and easy walking distance to the main business area in Carpinteria with restaurants, shops, etc. The hot tub was nice and hot and the pool seemed to be heated as well. We were really impressed by the selection of plates, glasses, knives, and other utensils in the kitchen. Often rentals have the bare minimum but they had a great spread of pots and pans and Tupperware and seasonings. Could have used some cooking oil but we made do without since we didn’t want to go back to the grocery store. The unit was pretty clean on the surface level but is probably ready for a deep clean. Other than that everything was superb and exactly as advertised!

Entry was easy and gated parking a plus. The space is small but tidy and well appointed. Plenty of paper goods and extra linens. Perfect for 1-2 people. We unfortunately had to cut our trip short due to a power outage in the area from large amounts of rain. Owners were extremely attentive and accommodating. We would definitely stay here again.

No balcony🙁
We love Carp and have been there many times. This was in the perfect location. We were so disappointed though that it did not have a balcony! It stated It had balcony/patio. We had to walk down an outside hallway and stairs to get to a shared patio. The bed was comfy, the couch was not. It needed a deep cleaning.

We will have our cleaners do a complete deep clean on the couch. Thank you. Please re-read the description of our condo... it does not say there is a balcony. It explains that the picture of the beach is from the stairs leading to the condo and the actual view is of the mountains.

Great Location in Carpenteria
Less than a block from the beach in a quiet complex. Perfect size for one or two people, but you'll want to spend all of your time enjoying the quaint town, beautiful beach, hiking trails or biking. Only slight issue what the height of the mirror in the bathroom, if you're 6' or taller you'll have to duck a little bit... a very small price to pay for a wonderful place that's close to so many things to do. I'd definitely stay here again.

2 minute walk to city beach..5-10 minute walk to most stores/restaurants this condo served my purposes well. It is a small space but nice decor that would work well for a couple. The economical price may find me back next year.

Location is everything!
Our rental was clean, comfortable, and convenient to the Carpinteria downtown. We walked almost everywhere, especially the 94 steps to the sand on the lovely beach! The unit was well-equipped, and the owner is super responsive and flexible! If you are staying in Carpinteria and you love the beach, you will love this spot! (The property was in perfect proximity to my son and his wife!)

Great spot, some disappointments
Overall, the property itself was lovely - totally matches the vibe of Carpinteria as a whole. The location is unbeatable. The unit is only a block away from the beach and just a few blocks walking from the salt marsh nature park. The bed was plush memory foam, the kitchen was well-stocked with utensils and cookware. The fridge has a cute, retro-vibe. Our main disappointment was that we would have LOVED to go biking around the city. Carpinteria is small and having a little beach cruiser has advertised was a major draw. However, when we went to unlock the bikes, the combination didn't work and the property owner was in another state at the time and unable to help. Also, the internet was slow and the notice about using up too much toilet paper seemed a little unwelcoming, but it was really the bikes that put a damper on our trip.

Great Location
The beach is literally right across the street and shopping around the corner. You park in the back of the building and never use the car in town. I love Carpinteria and have stayed on this property many times and will continue to do so. The rental unit is loaded with all kitchen utensils, we needed nothing else. It is perfect for 2 people, bed is VERY soft but comfortable.

Have grown rather fond of this unit having been here for 7 nights . Perfect for my husband and me . Well equipped kitchen , comfortable seating in the living / kitchen area , rather small but adequate bathroom with plenty of hot water for showers , bed mattress too soft for our liking . Quiet building , great location . Owners have gone a nice job of updating and furnishing .

We put a "memory foam" topper between the mattress and the thick new mattress pad because the mattress itself is "firm". We wanted to hit that "Goldilocks" zone. We could have missed it for you, but others seem to like it. Remember that it can easily be removed if you guys come back for another stay. Thanks.

Cozy Beach Retreat
Easy access to beach, less than 100' away. Walking distance to everything in downtown. Wonderful support from the owner. Comfortable accommodations, great bed, nice bathroom, and kitchen to cook in if desired. We also liked the parking space and the hot tub. We would definitely return.

Cozy Condo in Carpenteria
The condo was very clean. The host was easy to get in touch with and easy to communicate with. It’s right in the middle of a small beach town and the walk to the beach is less than 5 minutes. We enjoyed our stay!

A block to the beach!
We loved the location and small kitchen had everything we needed. The bed was very comfortable and the building was quiet for sleeping. The only drawback was we could not open up the arrival instructions from the confirmation email and could not get a hold of anyone via email or phone call and multiple messages. Taking all our bags with us for dinner, we finally heard from one of the owners when we called the VRBO main number. So we checked in later that night and we’re exhausted settling in. Otherwise, we had a nice experience.

Our Move-In / Move-out instructions were delivered to the guests as a standard .PDF file, no differently than for all previous guests. We received a call later saying the TV didn’t work. The guests before and after had no issues with it. Sorry it couldn’t have been better.

Beautiful Condo
While on the small size, this cozy condo was very comfortable and perfect for our needs. A block from the beach! The property manager made our visit so easy and promptly provided checkin/checkout instructions. Having a private parking lot to park in made us feel very secure when coming in late at night. Carpinteria is such a charming town with some great restaurants. Esau’s for breakfast was a great choice for us.

The space was good for 2 adults, maximum. The bed was much too soft. We could not get the TV to work; sometimes it came on spontaneously; fortunately, though, not in the middle of the night. Quiet and clean. Very nice.

We're sorry your stay wasn't perfect. Our cleaners reported that TV is working normally. The bed has a memory foam topper. Some folks find it too "soft". It can be removed if necessary.

This condo was perfect for our needs! We have tent camped at campground at Carpinteria for 35 yrs, but decided to get a condo this yr for the two of us. The location was perfect and close to campground so we could hang out with our kids and grandkids easily. The condo was so comfortable and we loved how well it was decorated. It had everything we needed! We will try to rent this condo in the future!!
