“The owner helped us by being flexible and accommodating. We got a day of reservation and there was a problem with the booking. He was quick to respond and fixed the issue right away. We were in town saying goodbye to a family member and the services got moved around several times. With a 2 and a 4 year old needing a nap and a place to hang, we were able to extend our check out for a small fee. Will stay again this summer!”

“I grew up in Carthage and occasionally return to see family. The house was quiet, comfortable and well-equipped. It is within walking distance to anything that you would need in the area as far as groceries, restaurants, etc. This will be our number one choice for future visits to the area.”

“Perfect location for our visit; one block from the Nauvoo Temple. The apartment is well stocked and the four bedrooms are spacious and comfortable for a large group. Parking is right on the street and so easy, steps from the front door. We ate at the lower level restaurant for multiple meals and it was great quality and price. The apartment is quiet and cozy and everything you would want for stopping in this small town. ”

“Nauvoo was a mid point ti meet a family member and continue work on our family tree. The historical site was the main reason we chose Nauvoo. A little search on Vrbo, we found a historic home to stay in. What a treat! The rental was beyond the price point we usually seek but the home was the cherry on top of a wonderful visit. “House built in 1901 so has uneven floors, but you couldn’t ask for a more charming place. So clean accommodations and everything you need to make your stay pleasurable. I would recommend and will be booking it again!!”

“We had 33 or so family members meet at this location for Thanksgiving. Overall is was a great experience. The headliner is the view of the Mississippi. The property is up on a hill and provides a gorgeous view. Lisa was very responsive to all of our needs. Note that alcohol is not permitted at this location (on my phone that detail was slightly hidden in the rules section under “show more.” Thanks for a great property to reconnect with a large family!”

The property was beautifully landscaped. The home full of charming items and decorated perfectly. “There was just four of us and plenty of beds to spare. Sleeps 10. Very clean home that was space for all. Great location for what we had scheduled- Nauvoo/Carthage. Each night went to keokuk Iowa to shop. Great little Mexican restaurant in Hamilton called El Camino real. Home sit on corner lot plenty of space to park and quite neighborhood. Thanks”

“The first things my children said when we arrived is that it looks like a small castle. Overall, the home was well stocked with towels, and everything was in working order. This is our first VRBO, so I cannot comment on cleanliness standards fully, but from what we could tell, the place was clean. We enjoyed the fire places, and the kids enjoyed playing 'sardines', another form of hide and seek. “This is a great property out in the country, quiet snd with starry nights. If you like hot beverages, all bases are covered with their hot drink station. Everything you need for a nice, comfortable getaway is at the Getaway.”

“Very kind older gentleman, English was no his native language, but he made up for it in graciousness. On a road that includes an auto wake up call ( sun up traffic) at no extra charge. Very good bargain- would stay there again.”
