RACV Goldfields Resort

8/10 Good

"My son and I enjoyed four nights here. Room was as expected. Sofa bed was lumpy and springy… definitely not ideal as the only option for our sleeping arrangements. The rooms have the joining door, which would be ok if we knew the people next door. But in our case the people next door stayed up the first two nights until 2am, with a toddler screaming… the adults could be heard laughing. Even with two ear plugs it was as though we were in the same room with how loud they were!! If there wasn’t the joining room door I do not believe it would have been as loud. The shower tiles were ‘squishy’ to step on… so I do not have confidence are water proof and mould isn’t growing under them. I requested the bed sheets to be changed on the first morning due to my son spilling some ice cream… this request was ignored (I spoke directly to the cleaning staff entering the room!) and subsequent requests via reception were also ignored… it was very obvious where the ice cream was dropped and made a mess! Would hope they would have changed the sheets even without the request. Food selection at the onsite restaurants leaves a lot to be desired! The buffet breakfast was ok, but not sure if worth the extra costs. The onsite EV chargers were handy but someone clearly doesn’t like EV’s as they stuffed the ends of the chargers with gravel… on the second night I forgot to check and made attempts to plug in only to realise the gravel then damaged one of my cars prongs for charging!"

"Spacious room fitted with all the necessities. The mattress was harder than I prefer but that’s a preference thing. I was hoping the room would be more sound proof but I think I heard every train overnight, but I do live in a very quiet area so unusual for loud noises overnight. Very happy with our stay. Thank you"

"The location is great, close to downtown Halls Gap and all the beauty of the mountains. Staff was super helpful and went out of their way to make sure our stay was great, it is clear they make sure the needs of their guests are top priority. Would recommend and likely will return the next time we travel that way."

"In our room there was only one PowerPoint for a family with multiple phones and tablets sharing one PowerPoint. Disappointed that shower had a curtain as water went everywhere. Great location for sovereign hill village and easy access. At times not enough parking. Breakfast appeared to be expensive for children as well"
