“It is in a residential area :10 minutes walk from bus terminal and about 15 minutes to the city center. Ask for a taxi transfer if you have heavy luggage or wheeled luggage. The cottage house is among the most beautiful, we have stayed in, with tasteful collections, overlooking a garden with lupines and a far view of lake argentina. Hosts, living close by, are very responsive, helpful and hospitable. We enjoyed our stay and hope to have spent substantial more time . ”

“Enjoyed my stay at the Splendor by Wyndham El Calafate immensely. It was a very nice luxurious lodge, with spacious and comfortable rooms, lots of spaces for food and coffee, excellent cuisine, very friendly and professional staff, in a convenient location with Lake Argentina visible in the distance, with El Perito glacier accessible by guided or self tour. El Chalten and Mt. Fitz Roy are about 90 minutes from the hotel. I highly recommend the hotel.”

“This was the most lovely hotel we have probably stayed in. The staff was incredibly friendly and kind; they arranged for an early check-in for us on short notice, provided lots of information about the El Calafate area, and arranged for a very early airport pick up for us. "Pros: They had a shuttle service that went to the town center every hour, which was convenient. The transportation service to the airport arranged by the hotel was good. Hotel restaurant had a good selection of dinner menu. Cons: The service was ok for a five star hotel. The room we got was very basic, and was very close to the hotel restaurant and the restaurant had very loud music playing during dinner time around 8-9PM, the walls are not soundproof at all. We had to call the front desk to ask them to lower the volume. They should have considered this and not have rooms this close to the restaurant. They did not provide bottled water in room, only refillable glass bottles, which would be OK if they had better water filling machines. You have to refill it yourself at the water fountain in the lobby, but the one they had was more for home use which was very small and slow. "
