Room is spacious and clean and in a good location. Only downside is you need to walk to the other side of the old town to check in, to then have to traipse across town with your luggage to your actual accommodation. Check-in should take place at the accommodation. You also need to visit that same place across town for breakfast each morning should you choose to include breakfast.
Elia Erato is a beautiful two-story apartment right on the port in Chania!
The views from the balcony are absolutely breathtaking. There are bathrooms on both floors, and the downstairs bathroom even offers a lovely view of the port and lighthouse. We especially loved the downstairs shower — it includes a built-in sauna, which was a fantastic bonus.
The location in the heart of the Old Town Port is incredibly convenient for exploring, though it can be tricky to find parking if you have a rental car.
Overall, it’s a stunning apartment with an unbeatable location and unique features we really enjoyed!
This hotel was nice and the rooms were quite modern. We had the two bedroom. The check-in was fine at the other property and a young man helped us roll our bags to the second property. The bed was just OK. It was a terrible. It wasn’t great. There was a lovely veranda on our floor. We were room six, but we were never told about it. We just discovered it on our last night and never got to go out there and have a coffee or a glass of wine. There was no service out there, but it would’ve been nice to buy a bottle of wine and people watch on the Venetian Harbour out there. So that was a disappointment and a place for the hotel could do better for the people staying in the secondary property the view wasn’t great from room six it was an alleyway with residential buildings around. They are quite responsive in the lead up to our stay through Expedia messaging and then they gave us a phone number to send WhatsApp messages and they confirmed for us that there were some nearby beaches and beach bars, and restaurants open for us to do a little trip out of the town. If you are OK with kind of a self serve feeling, we would recommend the hotel, but we had just come from a luxurious five star resort with many many amenities so there was a bit of a contrast there for those with mobility issues the stairs up to the suites are quite steep and old-fashioned so it may not be suitable for everybody.
Pros: Fantastic location if you’re looking to stay near the old town harbor in Chania. It was the highlight of our vacation for my husband. Our room had a balcony that overlooked the harbor…incredible view…so we were able to enjoy the music and view from our room and when we wanted to retire for the night, we could simply close the door and hear nothing.
There was more than enough space for my husband and three kids. Perfect for families! I think my kids managed to try the gelato from every shop in the area.
The location is incredibly convenient for restaurants, shopping, nightlife, local site seeing, and transportation.
Note that reception is not open 24/7. In order to check in, because we arrived so late, we had to go to a nearby sister hotel to check in and then walk back to our room. Distance was no more than five minute walk.
Con’s: the location is not convenient for all excursions. Travel is often required to nearby towns in order to participate in some of the excursions. Many tour operators will pick you up near your hotel, but not all will. Those that do pick you up require 1 to 2 hours of commute before you reach your intended destination because they’re also picking up other tourist on the way.
Property was in a great spot, within walking distance for many places!!! They arranged our transportation when requested. Very comfy beds, fantastic shower!!! Only issue was jack hammering all day across the street, so very noisy at this time so may want to ask if it was completed before you book.
Excellent hotel and staff. Our reservation included breakfast which was very good. Souvenir shops galore. Starbucks in the area if needed. But so many local cafes and restaurants.
A bit noisy at night, but that's basically guaranteed staying anywhere near the harbour. The entire atmosphere here was great though. Also the steam shower was amazing!
Accommodation was excellent with great location. Not sure if there was an apartment above us, but could hear movement through the ceiling. Close to main square and everything was within walking distance.
The location was great and nearby several shops. Unfortunately, some of the staff were impatient and would respond to basic questions with a passive aggressive attitude.
This place is great! There is a club right underneath, so you can hear that late into the night, but it didn’t bother us at all. The room was nicely updated, beautiful room. All of the staff is amazing and kind, and the shuttle driver was so nice, as well.
Wonderful location with view of harbor from shared balcony. Steps from waterfront, dining, shopping, atm, and convenience. 5 minute walk to heart of Chanda old town. Absolutely wonderful!
Great apartment right in the heart of the harbour and old town. Lovely views of the harbour and beyond. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Overall a great choice.
One thing to think about is to add a full length mirror in the rooms
This property is within walking distance to shopping, dining and beaches. The view from the balcony is aamazing. Room is spacious and amenities are new and clean.
The only inconvenience there is no dedicated parking to this hotel & unfortunately street parking close by is very challenging.
