This cozy room was everything I hoped for and more. Tucked away in the beautiful pedestrian area of Chania, the location couldn’t have been better — steps from incredible restaurants, charming cafés, and lively bars, yet amazingly quiet at night. The room itself was spotless, comfortable, and full of charm — the perfect blend of authentic Cretan atmosphere and modern comfort. And the host? So kind and accommodating, making check-in and communication smooth and stress-free. Whether you're exploring the harbor, strolling through the Old Town alleys, or just relaxing with a glass of wine on the balcony, this place truly feels like home. Highly recommend — I'd stay here again in a heartbeat!

Simple room, simple stay

Monk rooms was okay. I had lived in Chania for years and needed a place to stay for 8 night prior to my departure. The location is perfect, down a lit, quiet alley easy to find. The room was clean and simple, everything I needed. But being located on the ground floor right next to the front door, I was awaken almost every night by other tenants coming back in the building ( there are a total of 3 units). I kept my room pretty clean but on day 3 black sugar ants showed up and I could not get ride of them for the life of me. They were harmless, just annoying. The owner reached out one time after my arrival to check in on me. All and all, it was a clean place to sleep, shower and poop.

If you are renting a car this place is not for you. There is absolutely no parking available near by. I spent hours searching for parking. Also, if you have lot of heavy luggage please request a room downstairs. It was not easy to move up heavy luggage through the narrow stairs. It was not easy to use the key to open the door. Also, if you lock the door, if someone is inside they cannot get out. But the location is fantastic!
