Everything was incredible from the moment we arrived. Early check in was available, the team arranged parking for our car. Had dinner both nights at the restaurant and can’t fault the food, my chef partner loved everything on the menu. Staff were so attentive and lovely. Good location if you’re looking for somewhere slightly out of town, a little quieter. Only a 20ish minute walk into old town.

Loved The Tanneries Spa and Resort. Amazing room, jacuzzi, steam shower, complimentary sparkling wine, complimentary breakfast…so many positives that it’s hard to list them all. I highly recommend this hotel.

Our stay at The Tanneries was exceptional. The property is gorgeous and modern yet fitting the historical surroundings, the rooms are also very modern and lovely with immediate proximity/ views to the water. Most importantly the staff is wonderful. On the first day of my stay I got a massage, scrub and facial with Katarina and it was excellent. Then the next day the reception staff went out of their way to help when my colleague was not feeling well. I can’t say enough about The Tanneries hotel and how they go out of their way for guests.

The location of the hotel is magical. The morning is peaceful and the evening lively with the hotel restaurant and another neighboring restaurant. The hotel staff are kind, friendly and very helpful. They all provided such a high level of service, it was difficult to leave. We would return in an instant!

Wonderful hotel, well located in a beautiful setting by the sea, just outside the main tourist area of Chania. Modern well designed and beautiful rooms. This property is beautiful. Modern design and great views. The staff were very friendly and our stay was pleasant. The only feedback is to maybe include some sort of privacy curtain or something so the person who is showering is closed off and the others can access their bags and the mirror. Aside from that, the room was excellent.

Exquisite Stay

Stunning accommodation. Friendly and responsive service. Great restaurant and breakfast great spa treatment. Very highly recommended. Valet car parking when lane bays are full so allow 10 mins for staff to retrieve your car. Steam room in upstairs bathroom. Fabulous museum in close proximity. Lovely walk into town. Taxi back from far western side is 10 Euro.

My new favorite!

Close to perfection! Very nice hotel by the sea. Excellent service. Rooms are fantastic with a view on the sea, the area is quite, a bit far from the center but if you have a car it should not be a problem. And last but not least: the restaurant is really great, probably the best in Chania I had the pleasure to experience in 3 different stays in tje last 5 years. My new favorite!

A very unique/ strange property set amongst derelict buildings. The hotel itself is very upmarket, clean and modern. The Moet and nibbles in the room on arrival was a lovely touch. A shuttle to town could have been useful with no real bar there. The walk is 20-30 minutes Breakfast was great with lots of choice and great outlook. Some homeless boys showed up outside asking for money and looking at my hand bag while I was sunbathing, also going in the swimming pool entrance which made us wary of our belongings and safety. I wouldn’t call it a spa hotel as there is no one on site and we tried to get massages on 3 occasions. We were offered 7.30pm at night which was not ideal but eventually after asking several times my husband got one but I didn’t. The breakfast restaurant staff were very welcoming and the man on reception (with tattoos, sorry I don’t remember his name) was very accommodating, attentive and helpful. The evening restaurant staff we did not find very friendly. The first night we went for a drink around 10/10,30pm on our return from walking to town. I am not keen on fizzy drinks and asked for orange juice which they were unable to provide, the subsequent nights we went to the only other bar a few doors down where we did feel welcome and offered food choices other than fish. The property and cleaning is 5 star but the attention to detail and small things at a 5 star hotel from staff was lacking a little for me.

Hotel was great with nice courteous staffs. We stayed in Junior double room (no balcony). Upgrade request was denied. Rooms was very clean and had wonderful view of sea and we could hear waves which was relaxing. Had welcome sparkling wine. Rooms had steam shower which was great to have. They have free parking/free valet off-property, although most of the time they kept my car along the narrow street next to hotel lobby which was very convenient. Breakfast was great and all restaurant staffs were very nice and courteous. In addition to buffet, they offer free orders from their breakfast menu. We had body massage which was awesome!! Would highly recommend spa service. Only downside is location which was about 15-20 mins walk from city center/old town. Overall we had a great experience!

This is a terrifically stylish and well-run hotel. It’s the kind of place that becomes the star of your holiday - I couldn’t wait to get back there. The rooms and the entire hotel are serene and gorgeous - all cream stone walls, marble, wood, floating staircases, with wonderful views straight out to sea. We enjoyed our jacuzzi and steam/shower room. The sound of the waves at night was so relaxing. We also loved the indoor pool and spa where we both had relaxing treatments. The breakfasts were excellent, taken outside by the sea. We were able to sunbathe on recliners on the narrow area between the hotel and the sea, but the hotel isn’t really aimed at those who want a poolside holiday. The staff - receptionists, owner, waiters, cleaners - everyone, really couldn’t have been more charming and helpful, aiding us with taxis, a hire car and suchlike. The walk to Chania took about 20 minutes. The taxi from the airport cost 30eu - in cash only, which caught us out. I recommend this place without reservation.

Beautiful modern Hotel

Beautiful hotel right on the water, amazing restaurant, we had a great dinner and breakfast. The rooms had an amazing view of the sea and very modern and luxurious.
