Everything very nice . Comfy bed , good sized room. Fabulous Thai and English style breakfast buffet. Room overlooking pool and the woodsy river. Very good value !

Superb. In Chanthaburi this is THE place to stay!
We were mightily impressed with the D Varee and would recommend it highly to anyone visiting Chanthaburi. We spent two nights there, in a Jacuzzi Suite, top floor, overlooking the river. Our room was spacious, with a large balcony. Very clean, comfortable and enjoyable. The staff were efficient and attentive throughout, and the (included) breakfast was very good, taken in a pleasant area with indoor and outdoor seating options. Nice pool and landscaped grounds along the river bank. One of the things that impressed me enormously about this property was the level of maintenance, cleanliness and upkeep. Many hotels in Thailand get run down pretty quickly, and maintenance is not a strong point... But the D Varee was exceptional in this regard and the owners are clearly committed to high standards. Delightful to see. I have to guess this must be the best hotel by far in this city.

It is a nice, quiet place with many big trees. Staffs are with superb service minds. But for my first night, i smelled the sewage from the bathroom/toilet. I guess one of the drainages was dry, so it let the smell pass through.

The front desk staffs are quite good and door man staffs are helpful but the front desk staffs are not friendly. I went there for the first time and booked a jacuzzi suite for 1 night. It wasn’t impressed for me who visited here for the first time that no staff leaded me the way to my room. A room is cleaned but there were cockroach and lizard in my room. The staffs at the restaurant for breakfast time they are very friendly, greetings from the entrance and thanking when I left.

The property looked fantastic when I booked it. Externally it matched the online pictures, however our room wasn’t as nice. My biggest issue came when we asked for an iron and were told that we had to pay for hotel staff to iron our clothes. We weren’t given an explanation as to why this was the case, yet when they tried to contact the hotel staff who do the ironing, none of them were available. Additionally, the gym is too small and poorly equipped to be of any use. This place is OVERPRICED FOR WHAT YOU GET.

Probably the best hotel in Chanthaburi !
The hotel is on the River, closely located to the shopping area. nice swimming pool as well as our room had jacuzzi, although with builders across the river, you may not be tempted to jump into your bath! some privacy there would be welcome! The breakfast is of decent quality and reflect the standard of this upmarket provincial hotel, not to be confused with International 5 stars hotel chain... of course the breakfast could be improved, with the offering of croissant/pastries. Another point is coffee, as Westerner I like a good coffee, they serve filter coffee, which after few minutes on the hot plate taste like burnt! Perhaps I am being picky, but being the best hotel in Chanthaburi, you expect higher standard, and it is all about details in this industry. the room are well appointed, comfortable beds and pillows. A bonus for me, is wood flooring! just perfect. Great shower too! The restaurant menu in my view could be improved, especially when you see advertised wines like "Chateau Mouton Rothschild 2000" in the wine fridge! they do have a few good wines at a lesser price! They would gain to develop a better menu... whilst this is the Thai countryside, there are also many foreigners visiting like myself, and I do visit Chanthaburi regularly. the hotel was very busy, with what it seems foreigners and Thai alike. few improvements would make this hotel a real Gem in Chanthaburi!

1 day stop over
New, clean, nice room, quiet area. Next to the river. The restaurant service and food could be better, they served us 3, first my wife, 10 later me, 10 minutes later my daughter, and the quality of the western food I got was not ok. The hotel was great, I was pleasantly surprised and the staff was nice and helpful, they didn’t speak a lot of English though.

Great hotel but not entirely perfect.
Everything was great except for the bedroom. Sun light crept into the bedroom early in the morning through glass panels from the toilet. Beside this, everything else was great.

The fabulous local hotel
So impress the cleanliness, comfort and amenities of the room. Surprisingly the hotel provided welcome fresh fruit in the room also all snacks and mini bar are all free.

You won't find a nicer staff. The breakfast was incredible, more like a meal than just a snack. Speaking of snacks, you geat a complementary daily assortment at no charge. Hotel has great fews and quiet rooms. An excellent choice!

Nice hotel on a klong, away from city center.
A nice clean hotel beside a Klong. The jacuzzi on the balcony was so nice and peaceful. Only negative is the bed was hard and uncomfortable.

Had to wait 20 minutes at check in even though we arrived at 4 pm, the hotl was very clean and the staff were very welcoming and friendly, nice big room and excellent bathroom with ample hot water, good car park, there were only a couple of negatives, firstly the restaurant- 4 of us ordered a meal and they came out separately at 15 minute intervals, after the second meal came they said they did not have what I ordered and asked me to reorder. taking another 30 minutes, this is not what you expect when 4 people go for dinner together, Whilst the room was very clean we ran out of tissues, toilet paper so housekeeping needs to check this.

Great hotel in Chanthaburi
Modern and extremely clean hotel with lovely pool and gardens. The hotel is professionally run and provides a fairly decent breakfast. Views are good from the room and it's within walking distance to the market areas of town and under 2km to the atmospheric old town

Immaculate hotel in unlikely location
The hotel is immaculate inside and out. The local area is a mix of like industry and commercial,so it's not the most prepossessing of surroundings. But the hotel is set well back from the road and the rooms look out over lovely gradens to the river and is very peaceful. Staff very freindly and helpful. Good breakfast served in bright dining area. There is a design fault in the rooms: though there is a good black-out on the bedroom ceiling to floor windows on to the terrace, there is a window between bedroorm and bathroom, with the latter also with large windows. Hence once the sun rises in the morning, it shines into the bedroom and cannot be closed out. An eye mask advised if you are woken by daylight!

Peaceful location and nice hotel.
Peaceful location, clean, comfortable and overall very nice. The breakfast is poor, but then again breakfasts are rarely great in Thailand in my opinion. Wifi very good. If you want local Eastern Thai food try Chanthorn Pochana very nearby.

A pleasant oasis in Chanthaburi.
This hotel was quiet, peaceful, and beautiful. It is on the river's edge with exceptional landscaping up to the river. There is a great view of their landscaping from the pool deck that also has river views. There are tall trees between the hotel and the river that creates an atmosphere of seclusion. The service was also outstanding. I would be happy to return!

Happy with the choice.
We required a CBD hotel in Chanthaburi and this was as close as we could get to our requirements. A taxi to anywhere as the hotel is on the outskirts of the CBD. More of a motel than a hotel with limited facilities but offers good value for money.
