What a great place!

We had a great time! All of the appointments of home! The only slightly negative was negotiating the driveway but it wasn’t too bad! So peaceful and relaxing on the lake! Beautiful views! Would definitely stay there again!

Fantastic place for a friends getaway!

This property is lovely and has wonderful views of the lake. It is very comfortable and quiet with comfy beds, a fabulous dual head shower in the primary bath, and comfy living room furniture. There is plenty of outdoor furniture to enjoy the deck as well as the dock. The host reached out to us stating they noticed that there had been an Internet disruption and wanted to make sure we had what we needed. We had already reset the router so no further intervention was needed but we appreciated that they reached out proactively. There was a drip coffee maker, filters, and coffee available. We could not find the Keurig, but otherwise the listing was accurate. The driveway is somewhat steep but it is paved. I would recommend caution when entering and exiting, especially in the dark. We enjoyed our stay immensely, and I would highly recommend this vacation home. I hope to come back someday!

Relaxing Weekend

We had a great stay at this cute home right on the water. The listing was just as described with plenty of room for our group of 4 to spread out. The layout with 2 rooms on one side of the house and one room on the other was nice. The location was the perfect mix of relaxing lake house with easy access to dining in Belmont and Charlotte-area attractions. There was a small beach and fishing from the dock which my family loved. A couple of negatives...The kitchen pans and utensils were workable but could use some updates. Also, without room darkening shades, the bedrooms were pretty bright in the mornings. This was actually a plus for us in getting teens out of bed earlier and accentuated the beautiful lake view from the master, but could be a negative for some. Although probably a fair price in total for the stay, the fees from our booking on VRBO were very high by the time cleaning, booking fees, etc. were added. If trying to stay in a budget, definitely check the total price before making a decision. All and all, it was a nice place to stay and a very enjoyable long weekend.

The house is right on the lake and it is so beautiful. There’s a dock that you can sit on and read a book. The fire pit is right down by the waters edge. The decoration of the house is immaculate. The house is clean. The gas stove is incredible. The beds are comfortable. The whole house is just inviting and welcoming you and let you relax and rest on your vacation.

Nice house. Some issues, but no major complaints.I've been in better-stocked homes, and the fire pit had no chairs, but again, it was a nice home.Don't leave any food out, as the ants don't need much encouragement.

So relaxing!

The property was well maintained and had a nice view of the water, which we enjoyed so much. The necessities were plentiful and met our needs. One thing that could be added for people our age were hand rails on the steps.

Wonderful

We had an amazing time at Chateau Merlot for a ladies weekend with 6 of us staying at the property. The deck and views of the lake were the highlight of our stay. It was a good size for our crew and very private. The only reason for the slightly less than 5 stars was one thing that looked like it needed to be cleaned (the property manager was notified and they mentioned they will take care of it). We will keep this property in mind for our yearly gatherings.

Beautiful property, slightly understocked

This was a beautiful home, clean and well kept. The dock was in great shape. We enjoyed the fenced yard so that we could relax on the deck in the evenings while the kids played safely, and we enjoyed peaceful mornings watching blue herons nesting. The kitchen was under stocked, there were a lot of items we expected to be there that weren’t. The selection of bowls and cookware etc was extremely limited. It took property manager a while to respond to inquiries from us. The listing on the property does say 3 bedrooms, but under that, where you can scroll through the boxes and look at each bedroom at a glance, there are 4 bedrooms listed. I realize now this must have just been a duplicate entry on their part, and I am partially at fault for not looking closer, but when browsing the listing, I was going off of that alone, and I assumed there were 4 bedrooms. Overall, it was a really nice stay.

Lliving the Lake Life

We had 5 adult family members enjoying Chateau Merlot for the week. The house was immaculate, decor was updated and floor plan was perfect for up to three couples. We especially enjoyed the back porch in spite of the near 100 degree days. We also loved swimming off the dock on the floats we brought along. You can't beat the location if you're flying into CLT. The US Whitewater Center is a fabulous attraction that is also super close. We would definitely rent this property again. Matthew was communicative with quick responses when needed. Thanks for everything!

Just like the photos!

The house looks just like the photos, if anything the rooms were a little bigger than expected! Plenty of room for a pack & play (host was kind enough to provide) in the master. Beautifully decorated and beautiful location. The property is pretty steep between the driveway and the house, and the house to the lake, so might not be best for those with mobility aids, but my 70 year old parents and toddler nephews were able to navigate just fine. Rodric was easy to get in touch with and checked in regularly, check-in and check-out was a breeze. He recommended Lake Wylie Boat Rental nearby and we rented a pontoon for the day which was great, we could dock it right back at the house for breaks then head back out. Lots of swimming off the dock. Would definitely recommend!

Perfect 4th getaway

We had a wonderful time on our 4th of July getaway. We live and work in the Charlotte area but needed a little r&r and that is just what we got! We enjoyed the deck day and night, rented a boat and enjoyed the lake and had an amazing view of the fireworks display from across the lake. The house was perfect size for 5 adults and the accommodations were excellent.

Very Pleasant Stay

we enjoyed our 10 day stay at the “Merlot” property. The house was well located near Belmont and Charlotte, well furnished and comfortable with a great view of the lake. We spent much time on the balcony watching the various types of watercraft with skiers, wake boarders and fisherman. We also enjoyed seeing the various waterfowl including Canadian geese, egret and two blue heron’s nesting at the top of a nearby tree.

The pictures do NOT do it justice. This place is gorgeous! Clean, well decorated… best of form AND function. INCREDIBLE stove, AMAZING views all around the property. Can’t WAIT to come back!

Beautiful property in a quiet area

Family of 3 spent Fall break in Charlotte area. We use VRBO a lot for travels and this is by far the cleanest house we stayed in. A bottle of wine was a great surprise. The house is tastefully decorated, very comfortable beds, kitchen is very nice. Easy communication with the owner. We would love to come back again.

Perfect escape!

I loved every minute of my time here! Watched every sunrise and sunset, swam in lake, read in the big comfy chair, and worked from home on the deck. The house was perfectly decorated and the owners thought of everything. I highly recommend this place, and I plan to go back.
