Nestled in greenery, in a very quiet area of Chartres, on the upper slopes of the Eure hillside, this bright and airy accommodation, classified as a city break by Gîtes de France®, offers magnificent views of the old town and the cathedral. High-quality furnishings and decor, with an emphasis on bio-sourced materials (wood, wood wool, cellulose wadding, natural linoleum, water-based paint, rainwater harvesting system, etc.). The gîte is served by bus line 2 (supermarket in Champhol, city center, train station, and hospital), and public parking directly opposite the gîte is free.

Nearby you'll find many points of interest: Notre-Dame Cathedral and its treasury, of course, but also the Maison Picassiette, the Chartres en Lumière night walks, the International Stained Glass Center, the Odyssée aquatic center, the Chartres go-kart track, bike rentals near the train station at the heart of several routes, cinemas, and theaters… Further afield, the castles of Maintenon and Versailles are accessible by train, as is Aunt Léonie's house in Illiers-Combray for Proust enthusiasts, and the Château de Châteaudun… The Loire Valley, Tours, Blois, Orléans, Alençon, and Le Mans are easily accessible from Chartres. Single-story, non-smoking accommodation. The host's home is adjacent to the cottage; access to the owner's garden is only permitted in the owner's presence, due to the presence of a water feature. Pets are not allowed: the presence of an assistance dog at the host's home limits cohabitation with other animals; if Team's were to visit you, you would prevent it from entering the cottage and would not give it anything to eat, as Golden Retrievers are greedy; however, cuddles are welcome! Please inform Gîtes de France®[hidden]) if you do not wish the dog to visit you.
Parking of a vehicle on the property is only permitted for disabled access; maneuvering is still tricky. The access is paved with non-slip concrete and is perfectly manageable alone in an electric wheelchair and convenient if the wheelchair is pushed. The cottage, entirely on one level, has been adapted to accommodate a person with reduced mobility (accessible spaces, bathroom, walk-in shower, adapted sink and toilet).

A wooden ramp has been installed to eliminate the 8 cm step and 2 cm threshold at the entrance; the usable width of the front door is 74.5 cm. The slope of the pedestrian access on the property prevents it from obtaining the Gîtes de France® Tourism & Disability label, although, as we have seen, access remains fairly easy.
Developed in conjunction with Gîtes de France®, the price includes: bed linen for the stay (beds made upon arrival), and dish towels. As the cottage is heated by electricity, you have 8 kWh per day (any excess consumption must be paid on-site to the host). End-of-stay cleaning is not included and is an optional extra; whether or not the cleaning option is chosen, the tenant is expected to empty the rubbish bins, wash and put away the dishes, vacuum, give the bathrooms a basic clean, and tidy the furniture.
