Onhaye Chateau Ferme de Falaen Hotels

"We chose this hotel as an overnight stop on the way from Dunkirk to the Black Forest in Germany, purely because of its position along our route. We knew nothing about Dinant until much later. A fascinating place, lovely architecture, a small museum at the birthplace of Adolphe Saxe, inventor of the saxophone, and Maison Leffe, the home of my favourite Belgian beer! The hotel is clean and modern, beautifully situated on the river bank - a river view room is worth the extra charge if offered. They have a bar serving some foods, with a lounge overlooking the river, and a riverside patio to relax. Staff were very friendly and attentive, and seemed very proud of the place. Bedroom was very comfortable and of adequate size, and the location is within easy walking distance of a variety of cafes and restaurants. Parking, on the street or in any of the car parks, is charged hourly - 75 cents per hour when we visited - but only from 9am to 5pm, so overnight is free. There is a lovely atmosphere around town, and it warrants further exploration. Lots of guests of many nationalities, and the fact that many of them were returning guests speaks for itself. We only had an overnight stop, so sadly couldn't experience much of this lovely town, but we will be back for a longer visit, and will definitely stay at the Ibis Dinant Centre again! Highly recommended."

"Wij verbleven er met de kinderen, kleinkindjes en 3 honden. We waren met 12. Alles was meer dan voldoende aanwezig. Zalig toekomen, opgemaakte bedden en handdoeken genoeg voorradig, onze vakantie kon direct beginnen, er stond zelfs een wijntje koud in de frigo. Bij mooi weer is het heerlijk buiten zitten voor een BBQ met excellent vlees van 'boucherie Bertrand' uit Mettet en bij minder weer een prachtige, ruime plaats om binnen te eten. Mooie wandelingen, railbikes vanuit Falaen naar de abdij van Maredsous, de ruïnes van het kasteel van Montaigle. Wij hadden een leuk weekend en zouden zeker nog eens terugkomen. "We were really happy about our vacation Home. It was clean and had everything we needed for our stay. The kids loved the nature around & the playground. We had a beautiful view & enjoyed it. We will come back next year fir sure. "

"Overall a very nice stay. I wouldn’t consider this a 4.5 star hotel, but it was nice and comfortable, staff was friendly and room was functional and a decent size. River view room was nice, beautiful view. "

"Beautiful property and well maintained. Staff was very pleasant and helpful. My only complaints are that the dining options were very slim in the area after like 7pm, and there was a list of requests posted in multiple areas of the room that "for the environment you should turn off the water when brushing your teeth and turn off the water while washing your body in the shower" which was peculiar. I am environmentally conscious and still found that unpleasant to be asked of from a place I paid to stay in. "
