"Clean room with fan provided, which helped cool the room. Staff were very helpfull and friendly. Good selection for breakfast, though brown/wholemeal bread wasn't available by 9am. Not sure sbout parkibg, as we used ghe train to get to Chester. "
"Our room was on 4th floor. Two single beds in room. Thankful there was a desk fan in situ as was so very hot during our stay. Room was small but adequate for our needs and as it was only for one night it didn’t feel like we had no space. The bathroom, although quite dated, was very clean and tidy. The shower was set via the taps which did get bit tricky. Was just at temp I liked then as I was washing my hair, it went quite cold, which under the circumstances and how hot it was, it was quite refreshing, but had the outside been a cooler season it wouldn’t have been taken quite so kindly. The shower head was only small but pressure was very good. The shower was over bathtub & Shower curtains are something I thought had gone well out of date but they were lovely white clean new looking so no big issue.
We didn’t eat In Hotel but went to a Chinese all you can eat just a short walk away ( Slowboat) where everything is cooked to order and was absolutely gorgeous food, so pleased we went there.
The breakfast within the Mill Hotel was adequate.
The situation of the Hotel is great for walking into the centre, along the canal.
The only downside for us was that there was no fridge in room, which would have been very welcome considering the weather, as we couldn’t keep any drinks cold in room, but despite this we would definitely not hesitate to stay at The Mill again."
"My mother and I stayed in a room with two queen beds. Very clean, beds were so comfortable, we both had a tremendous night sleep. The air con was a little slow but worked all the same. The staff on both days we're helpful, very polite and kind. The breakfast was hot and fresh and staff were responsive to our needs as well as the needs of others with clearing plates, getting extra bread, to go cups etc. Only criticism i can make is the bar didn't take cash and we don't really use card. But other than that, it was wonderful, close to the shops and plenty of places to eat all around it. Thank you very much, we'd happily return."
"As we arrived at check in to the Pied Bull the young lady who checked us in was looking through her computer she suddenly said im just looking at what rooms we have i notice you are on a walking stick and we have you on our second floor room but notice your stick our stairs are not so good they are very old and im looking to get you a lower room. This she did amazingly a room with just 2 steps up i didnt get her name but she was a excellent at her job and pied bull are lucky to have her.
Pied Bull is one of Chesters oldest buildings. Its staircase is large and creaky. The bar and restaurant are lovely. The rooms are clean and hotel.is well.looked after. There is a beer garden and the pub brews its own beers.
The hotel.is a short walk to numerous restaurants and a short walk to Chester Cathederal and its beautiful grounds. Lots of shopping can be found just a 10 minute stroll away.
