We had a great stay at the exocabanas. The beach is the best in Mahahual, the water is so clear. Bring your goggles. The staff were super friendly and the resort has a gym which we were pleased for. Thanks for a great stay.

The property is conveniently located, the rooms are clean and the service is good. The beach area is nice, the food is great and the staff is very friendly and knowledgable about the area. Watch for over charges for drinks at the bar. Several times my group had to correct a specific staff member that was double charging drinks.

My new home wasn't ready yet, and I was desperate for somewhere to stay. The staff were lovely, but my closet is bigger than this unairconditioned shoebox for the audacious price of $1,200 pesos. The nauseating fumes of sargasso only make this overpriced nightmare masquerading as an eco-friendly locale more lovely. I have a fan that's blowing the mosquitoe netting into my face. They thoughtfully hung it offset from the bed, so I'm continously tangled in it..

El lugar es muy bonito ya lo conocía, me gusta mucho, el lugar la disposición y la ubicación son de lo mejor, lamentablemente mi estancia no fue agradable, ya q me recibieron con un costo diferente al de mi reservación y me dijeron q no podían hacer nada, ahora a ver q puedo hacer para eso, por q no es mi responsabilidad pero si del hotel o de hoteles. Aparte el trato no fue el mejor pero q hacer hay días q la gente es así. Falto cordialidad y atención hacia los detalles por el tipo de habitación y el tipo de de vecino. Así q el detalle del costo afectó toda mi estancia

Sejour surprenant.. je pensais arrivé dans un ecolodge, lorsque j ai demandé la possibilité de mettre une moustiquaire on m'a invité a faire tourner la clim pour les éloigner.. En cours de sejour, l eau de la douche et lavabo est devenue salée. Dommage car il y a un beau potentiel.

An expensive, basic hotel calling itself "eco"

Great location on perhaps one of the biggest parts of Mahahual's narrow beach but that's the only positive point. I had a garden view room with private bathroom. "Garden view" was in fact "car park view", only the cabanas are set in what you might call the garden. Terrible WiFi in my room which only worked by the door. Glass sliding doors for the rooms don't have net curtains so for privacy you have to close the main curtain and put the lights on. If you have a ground floor room, you'll hear everything - and I mean everything - from the guests in the room above. Shower is a v shaped piece of wood with water coming out as a dribble. I also had two water leaks in the roof. There's nothing eco about this hotel, it's a marketing gimmick. Finally the staff were never particularly friendly. This is the worse review I have ever given for a hotel and would not stay again. Way overpriced for what it is.

Insonorización inexistente y falsamente ecológico

El check in fue pésimo porque me querían cobrar lo que ya le había pagado a hotels.com. Me negué, les enseñe la confirmación que recibí de ustedes y aceptaron ver si al día siguiente les llegaba el pago. Al día siguiente fui yo quien les tuvo que mostrar mi estado de cuenta, lo que es inadmissible. El frente a la playa está bonito pero por detrás, muy feo y descuidado. La insonorización es inexistente. Se oye todo, no pudimos casi dormir. No lo recomiendo y no regresaré.

Great stay

Bluekay is a nice eco lodge. I stayed in the double bed rooms with sea view. The private beach access and veranda sea breeze were the highlights. Rooms are rustic but comfortable. Dont expect tv and in room wifi access. Onsite bar and restaurants were another plus. The vegetarian/ vegan restaurant was fabulous. Though their service was a bit slow. Great option for mahahual.
