Very nice property in an excellent location in the Old City. Our room was spacious and very comfortable. We were just a block away from the Sunday Night Market. Lots of bars and restaurants (both Thai and Western) are nearby. Easy walking distance from some of the better museums if you are interested in learning more about Lanna culture.

Stayed in a room with a pool outside my room. The decking is clearly not installed well with boards disjointed. Use of composite decking in hot climate is gives blistering hot boards to walk on getting in and out of the pool. Note that the pool temp is surprisingly cold despite the hundred degree afternoons. Floors are very slippery when wet in the walkway between rooms and main office. Rooms are very nice and have lots of great treats though as a side sleeper, the beds are really hard and a bit painful. Very nice breakfast and the location was good with parking for our vehicle.

Charming oasis in old town Chiang Mai
This is a lovely little oasis in the heart of Chiang Mai's old town. The pool is beautiful and refreshing and the staff could not be more gracious and helpful. Plus breakfast is included!

Fabulous hotel! So quaint and beautiful. The service was impeccable. They stored our luggage during our elephant experience and the allowed us to relax by the pool until it was time to depart for our flight. We freshened up in the gym prior to our departure l. I highly recommend!

The staff were so helpful, nothing was a problem. Breakfast was excellent with a good choice and on our last day they had a cookery course style table. We sat eating our strawberries we had purchased from a market and the kind lady asked us if we wanted a salad made using them. It was delicious. Only negative was the lack of lighting on the narrow walk past the pool to room 106.

Loved our stay at the Thai Akara. The hotel had character and it felt like we were in paradise on the property. Quiet and secure yet just minutes from all the shops and restaurants. Highly recommend it

Great stay here!
Great central location but down a little side street so peaceful too. Hotel is attractive with the central courtyard a nice spot for a drink. Very good breakfasts and room service comes from the nearby sister hotel (but didn't take too long when we ordered). Staff were very friendly and helpful.

What a gorgeous property! Just 2 things let it down....1) you can hear everything so the rooms can be a little noisy. 2) no room service after? I think 10pm or something like that, not a biggy but I'd expect top stays to have 24hr room service. Otherwise, fantastic place.

Location & Service @ Thai Akara.
Have stayed at Thai Akara in and off for the last month as I’ve explored Northern (real) Thailand. Without question location is central and service is fantastic. Very special shout out to the manager of food services- Monika. She is a treasure. By second day she knew I loved cappuccino and even delivered it to my room without even asking. How can I rate this place any higher?

Excellent stay at a great price
A really enjoyable and relaxing stay in one of their deluxe king-size room overlooking the swimming pool. High ceilings and a roomy bathroom make this room really pleasant. Staff was super! Breakfast was nicely served, and they make an effort to have a buffet, considering the situation I think it's worth noting.

Darling little boutique hotel in Chiang Mai. Easy to walk to anywhere in old city. Helpful staff. Very clean rooms. Breakfast is average but readily available. I would stay here again for sure!

We loved our stay at the Akara Lanna. The staff are outstandingly nice, we didn’t meet a single person who was any less than lovely. The pool area is very nice although a little small, and the property has a very chill vibe about it. Our room was not very sound proof so we could hear some outside noise but this was not severe and didn’t disturb our sleep.

The hotel is in the middle of the old town its close to the sunday night markets. They are very cheap! Food there is amazing. Be aware of how poluted chaimg mai is the haze over the city is pretty disgusting. But for a day or 2 its ok. The room we stayed in had its own swimming pool next outside the room - which was nice. The hotel also helped with a tour to an elephant sanctuary and recommended GRAB - like uber. So much easier for a traveller as you know what your paying and there is no confusion on destinations esp good if they cant speak English. Breakfast was good - a nice mix of western and thai. Get the concierge to spray your room - for mosquitoes. Nicw hotel!

This hotel was clean. It had a great location with many restaurants and shops in the area. The breakfast was very nice. The best thing about this hotel is the staff. They are ultra pleasing and happy to assist with whatever you need. Overall wonderful experience. Highly recommend.

Hotel is in a great location tight in the centre of the old town. You have good restaurants on your doorstep and if you wish to go to the Sunday Market it is few 100 meters away, but it’s location means it is really quiet as wll.

LIKES: -Staff was amazing. Very professional and helpful with advice about where to go and what to see. -The rooms have charm and character -The location was perfect for exploring old town Chiang Mai DISLIKES: -Rooms are noisy given older property. So in the morning you can hear doors slamming or babies crying as was the case with my neighbouring room. -Breakfast was ok, although certainly not the best I've had in Thailand and given the price paid for this room, my expectations were set higher.

A great boutique hotel
Beautiful looking hotel with a very boutique vibe. Rooms are large and comfortable, mini bar incl water and some soda. Staff is attentive and helpful. Although this hotel is slightly tucked away- all taxi, tuk tuk drivers knew where it was. Breakfast is quite basic and uninspiring, but pool was great albeit small.

What a little oasis after coming from the hustle and bustle of Bangkok. From the initial greeting til our early am departure, with a packed breakfast box to-go, the service was friendly and top notch. Our pool access room was gorgeous and had every amenity. The property grounds are small, relaxing, and just beautiful!

FABULOUS HOTEL!
The Thai Akara-Lanna Boutique Hotel was OUTSTANDING! It feels very fancy and is decorated so beautifully! The whole time you’re amazed by the great deal you got from Hotels.com! The staff was so friendly and helpful and the breakfast was fantastic! The location was superb, as well. Additionally, they decorated our room as we were celebrating our anniversary and even made us a cake! I would absolutely stay here again and recommend it to anyone I know traveling to Chiang Mai!
