A traditional Lanna style house set up like a B&B. Gentle, helpful owners. The breakfast snd coffee exceeded my expectation. Room was lovely with a small balcony. Quiet street convenient to many things if you like walking

A 3night stay in a lovely traditional Lanna style house. Conveniently located but in a quiet area. A short walk to bus station #1, the clock tower and night bazaar. A varied good choice for breakfast

Vintage hostel with very nice staffs

The hostel style is vintage and the whole building was built with wood. It is a very special experience to stay in such a old building. The staffs are very nice. Breakfast was good too - you can choose your breakfast from menu. Because it is an old building, you would have to keep your voice down and your steps light so not to make noises. And there are quite a lot of insects in both bedrooms and kitchens, which sometimes frightened us at a sudden.

Flott hostell!

Bodde her i 2 netter før vi reiste videre til Laos. Kjempehyggelig ung dame som er tilgjengelig hele tiden. 8 minutter å gå til nattmarkedet, og frokosten lages på bestilling. Ligger ikke midt i støyen, som vi satte pris på. Kommer gjerne igjen her. :) :) :)

Lovely service, would definitely stay here again.

The hostel is small, but it's located on a nice quiet street close to all the main sights of Chiang Rai. I only stayed one night because I wasn't sure of my plans but I wouldn't have hesitated to stay another couple of nights. The room is no frills but comfortable and the ladies that run the hostel are very sweet and happy to help. Breakfast is included and they have a motorbike to rent if you want to go exploring. Overall a great stay.

Home Stay Experience

I kept my room in my hostel in Chiang Mai and went to Chiang Rai for 2 days. I searched and searched for hostels and they were either booked or had bad reviews. This hostel was new but had good reviews. It truly felt like a Home Stay versus a hostel. I was pleasantly surprised that the Tuk Tuk driver knew where it was when I showed the address and it was about a 10 minute ride from the bus station. The house was beautiful and on a very quiet neighborhood street. You are literally staying at someones house and their antique furniture, jewelry, collectibles and clothes are on display. My room was huge and the bed was comfortable. I briefly met the owner when I checked in ad then when I got home. She had her phone on and did answer the phone when my Tuk Tuk driver called at 9 pm as he didn't know where the address was ( this was so common all over Thailand and I always carried the address and phone number of the place I was staying. I would recommend this hostel for a couple or friends traveling together. As a solo traveler, there weren't others to meet or talk to but that was fine for one night. The owner was very kind and called a neighbor and booked a TUK TUK for 2 hours for me the next day so I could go around the Temples and get to the bus station. I would highly recommend this. I was fortunate as the couple staying next to me were considerate and talked for about 30 minutes and then went to bed. You can hear things as it is a wood house

Convenient location but flawed

The room are clean and you are staying in an authentic Thai-style house. Let it be said up front, we did not have a *bad* stay, just not a great one. The rooms are separated one from another by wood about 1/2cm thick. This does not stop sound from passing from one room to the next. Most other guests stayed for only one night, which was good for us if they were noisy, but most were. The air conditioner also caused the walls to vibrate noisily. The other problems were things the host could definitely do something about: insects. Breakfast was not cleaned away quickly enough and, as far as I could tell, the surfaces were never ever cleaned, so lines of ants were visible near the coffee serving table as well as at the tables where guests can eat. The bathrooms are not sealed to the outside and have no mosquito repellent devices etc, so in the evening, they are teeming with mosquitos and other insects. Enough said, I think. Finally, the coffee is instant coffee served in cups too small for the sachets. I cannot fathom why that would be the preference.

A Friendly, Comfortable place

This hostel was capably run, comfortable and well located to the night market and other sights. Noi, the proprietor, was very helpful and welcoming.There is a verandah to sit out in the evening. The breakfast area downstairs is a good place to meet fellow travellers. I would recommend it highly.
