"We booked here last minute as our first booking through VRBO turned out to be a scam. Giacomo the owner/host was great from the start. Almost immediately after booking (while in flight across the Atlantic) he was reaching out via WhatsApp with details etc for our stay that next day. The house is very warm and inviting. "SUPER CLEAN upstairs 3 bedroom apartment with PLENTY of cookware. That said, it's a bit disingenuous. The main bathroom has neither a shower or a toilet seat as well as an inoperable bath tub. The bathroom with a shower has a door that doesn't close properly. And both have a NO PAPER AT ALL IN THE TOILET policy. The kitchen has everything you'd need, however the refrigerator - while working but not plugged in upon arrival - is quite antiquated. There IS another one inside the cabinet but hasn't...

"Wonderful hotel -- like a palace in a botanical garden! The staff answers your every wish, the food is so delicious and the grounds so beautifully kept that you never want to leave. Views of the sunrise over the water as you eat breakfast are picture postcard. The harbor and flowers, the sound of birds every morning, the elegant decor and original woodwork, all combine in a setting that produces one of the best vacations to Italy I have ever experienced."

"The hotel was pleasant enough. Charming old building, decent room, very nice courtyard for breakfast and dinner. One complaint, we booked a taxi from the airport to the hotel through the hotel. When our flight was delayed and we missed our connection we messaged the hotel well in advance to let them know we would be arriving later in the day. Several hours later we received a message saying we would be charged for 75 euro and they would charge another 75 euro to meet us later that day. It then took multiple calls to eliminate the charge and arrange the revised pickup. The only explanation I can come up with is that they don't check the messages and so can't update the driver. But the fact that they attempted to charge us shows either contempt for their customers or complete ignorance. I would suggest just grabbing a cab at the airport when you arrive. All in all it was okay but would't stay there again."

"Had a wonderful honeymoon, the staff were excellent and super helpful! The several restaurants were delicious! The hotel is lovely, clean, tidy with lots to do and fun entertainment in the evenings, they provide shuttles and day trips for a reasonable price and the spa is a recommended for a relaxing massage! Overall we’re already planning our next stay"
