Oasis on my road trip

Very nice room and wonderful staff. Spacious and quiet with a very comfortable bed. The price was unbeatable. If i had more time I would have stayed another day to rest up from being on the road too long. Dog friendly as well!

We got in late, but they left a key for us in their mailbox. For a low budget motel it was surprisingly clean.

An inexpensive place to sleep

Asam is an older hotel and ot shows. The floors are wooden and there were a few weak spots which I thought were unsafe. Other than that, the room looked clean, the bed comfortable, and parking right outside room door.

Definitely Never Stay Here

The hotel was absolutely disgusting. Blood on the sheets, dirty towels, and mold in the bathroom. The air conditioning unit was not working and neither was out TV. Karen, the desk attendant however was very nice.

They were CLOSED. We paid in advance and when we got there they were closed. Not a single car in the lot. No one inside. All curtains open to the rooms, no guests. I only booked a few days ago so if they were going out of business there’s no way they didn’t know it then.

Motel is a former Travel Lodge location with a homemade sign at street level. Finding the site without this information is difficult. Small staff is trying, but is basically overwhelmed No vending machines, closest ice machine was broken. 24 hour office is closed in the evening and much of the day. Free breakfast consisted Little Debbie snacks and one box of cercial. Room was clean enough, the low price is the only reason to stay at this location.

The front desk is often left unmanned and they dont answer their phones, so I was unable to check in when I arrived. The TV screen was cracked in the middle and the frig didnt work.

I use a wheelchair most of the time. Ramps were cracked and crumbling. No grassy spot for my dog to toilet. Unable to get to to the check in area with wheelchair. Said expedia didn't complete the booking and they charged me about $20 more than i booked it for.plus an extra $15 for my 6 pound dog

The air conditioner and the refrigerator were not working in the first room we were in. I called and asked for another room. The 2nd room we were in had a/c but the tv nor the fridge worked. Very annoying, lesson learned.

It was CLOSED!! Hotels agent was rude!

We made the reservation 1 week in advance AND adjusted it THAT MORNING. Via the hotels app. No issues whatsoever. Got there to NO ONE there. No one answered the phone. The agent from Hotels. Com tried to tell me she spoke to them and they told her I'd cancelled it half hour before she called.... I literally called the hotel as I was on the phone with the agent and no one answered! The agent was rude, dismissive and very argumentative. I've been a member a long time and never experienced anything like this.!!

Budget room/charged double!

Got there and wanted to shower, the water came out brown. Tried to pull the little knob up for the outdated shower and it was stuck shut.(room 130) Couldn't shower till the next afternoon when they had us change rooms.. this room was ok, however the bathroom fan was on,running and loud and the switch didn't work! (Room 134) Worst of all, my booking was for 2 nites at $57 per nite plus tax at $127... I was charged $248 and the hotel says to call hotels.com for a refund! With no luck whatsoever, I'm overcharged $121 .. the hotel staff Karen was really nice and friendly, unfortunately can not help with the overcharge, even though the hotel overcharged me!!

Needs to improve, a lot

Very dirty hotel. There was hair left in the shower, mold on the tile, mold on the ceiling, and cracks from plumbing leaks. Also, my key was left in the mailbox, with a sign on the front door letting anyone who saw it know. Didn't feel safe about that. The breakfast wasn't open, even though it's supposed to be open on weekends. The maintenance guy happened to see me and my family trying to open the lobby door and he let us in.

I have stayed at the Goodland Asam twice now and will stay again next time I pass through. It's quiet and peaceful. Staff and desk personnel were friendly and helpful with everything. The place is just enough off the beaten path where it's still really easy to access, but not noisy or on busy streets. Not far away is a variety of convenience stores and restaurants. The hotel grounds are spacious comfortable to walk about. The hotel's "old school" feel is welcoming and we felt safe roaming around, even after dark. The rooms were clean and free of odors, which I personally always notice. It's just a great little hotel where I can count on a good night's sleep for a reasonable price with really personable folks running the place!

Tv didn't work, ac unit didn't work, credit card processor didn't work properly-had to cancel my expedia reservation and create new booking and still took 3 runs for credit. Breakfast was barely ok, cereal, bread to toast, powdered sugar rolls... We decided Goodland is off the I-70 travel list in general. Whole town seems very run down these days.
