By the way, we'ad booked for 4 nights for 2 rooms , but the front desk sent us an invoice and asked us to check-out (paid everything upfront)on the 4th morning; although we're more than happy to leave it, but who is going to return me the difference?”

“Hotel had a smell, couldn’t figure out what it was. Bed was very hard. Somewhat on the noisy side for a weekend. I guess you get what you pay for.”

“We were in the building with one other guest! It was quiet and very comfortable! The breakfast meal was superb! The young woman that prepared the food was an artist! I have never had an omelet so light and tasteful! The Rose Room had a private balcony, that allowed us to sit outside and enjoy the weather! I definitely will stay there again!”

“A treat to stay in the only remaining Frank Lloyd wright designed hotel. The staff and area in general focus on having it in mason city. Staff is very friendly. The historic tour(extra charge) was very interesting and well done. If you don’t take the tour, stop in the gift shop where the clerk appears to like sharing information, too.”

“This was the absolute cleanest hotel I have ever stayed in! The staff was nice the bed was sooooo cozy. Bathroom was very clean. Loved having the remote in a bag and had been sanitized!”

“Right when I got there I was greeted harshly and told to “sit down and wait” all while 2 male staff stood there staring at me while waiting for another woman, I then received my key and went to my room, which was a very small single bed room when I booked a double, (I just accepted it because I am a solo traveler, I just like to book doubles for extra space and the staff was already unwelcoming so I didn’t want to deal with it). The shower/bathtub had hair strung all over it and the frame of the……

“Hot tub and pool closed and wasn’t notified. Building needs work outside. Parking lot needs striped. Smoking area should not be so close to entrance.”

“The major disappointment was the lack of maid service. We were only there for 3 nights and no one cleaned the room.”
