Great location for Grandparents to spend time with the Grandkids
Location was awesome with a beautiful beach right outside the door. The playground at the airport park made for a nice change of pace when the kids needed a change of pace and it was a quick drive to downtown Burlington for great meals and a trip to the ECHO science museum.
Our family of 12 (boomer siblings and their significant others) from across the country gathered to share a week together. This rustic camp provided a comfortable space with a fabulous beach setting. Bedrooms are small but comfortable, plenty of nooks and gathering spaces. . Surprisingly, the 1.5 bathrooms for 12 people was ok - the outdoor shower helped make it work. We will hope to return next year. It was a great experience for a family returning to their Vermont roots. VACASSA was responsive to my questions and contacts as we prepared for our camp time. Thank you!
This was our second year staying at the Big Yellow Camp. Another wonderful week. The check in process was easy, the owners are always available and very helpful. The house has so much character, it feels like home. We enjoyed the space and were very comfortable with 12 adults and three kids age 6 months - 4 years old. You cannot beat the view and beach access!
Seven friends since high school have been gathering during the summer for many, many years. Of late, we’ve been renting this wonderful rustic camp on the lake, maybe for the past seven years. We grew up in the area, and this is the type of camp we prefer — lots of wood, cozy, authentic, and extremely well equipped. The location cannot be beat. Excellent in every way.
We stayed at Chris's camp the week of our wedding and it was exactly as advertised, a great spot right on the beach! it definitely gets WARM and would benefit from AC, the fans in the windows did help tremendously. We had to remind people about the fans, screened windows and breezes and getting in the lake to cool down. Folks just aren't used to finding the non-AC ways to cool themselves anymore. Make sure to are taking advantage of the breeze and getting in the lake if you are staying in the summer to keep cool. Great spot for a classic summer vacation.
The views of Lake Champlain were spectacular. The front living room and dining room with window to window panoramic view of the lake and close proximity to the water sometimes felt that we lived on a houseboat without the downside of any rocking.
The house was clean, rustic and soulful. Mattresses and linens were clean and comfortable. The two canoes with paddles and vests were a delight. Wifi, television with streaming worked perfectly, but the available hands-on games led to comradery and spirt of the “camp” led us to even play “charades” with the entire extended family including teenagers.
The kitchen had all necessary amenities, but bring your teenagers to help with washing the dishes. The “camp” was so fun we did not miss any automatic dishwasher. Two bathrooms for nine of us worked out well and the outdoor shower was sublime.
We had a wonderful week at the Big Yellow Camp! The location and the beautiful scenery was amazing! Our family gathered from five different states and the cottage was perfect! Thank you Cunningham Family!

Beautiful location for a family vacation
Simple (not luxurious) camp house, in a wonderful Lake Champlain location. Very nice location for families with bikes. In same family since 1948. We'll be back.

Peaceful and beautiful
Just as promised. Local family beach house (camp) in the family for 7 decades. Great casual place
Lovely place for a family vacation. Enjoyed with 3 generations (the youngest were 7 months, 15 months, 4 and 6). Shallow lake area was perfect for the kids. Beds were comfortable. Sunsets beautiful. Highly recommended!
This property is a winner for our group of seven friends, with spaces for all of us and each of us. This is year five here on the lake, and the setting couldn’t be any better.
This property was perfect for our family vacation! Weather was beautiful lake was great for young children. The owners have thought of everything! It was just perfect! Thank you again to the Cunningham family!! We will be back!!❤️👍🏻👍🏻
The Big Yellow Camp was absolutely perfect for our stay in VT - enough room for our family of 4 (two teens) and extended family who joined us to experience everything that Burlington/VT have to offer. Idyllic setting on Lake Champlain, the house had everything we needed and more, including a traditional VT “Camp” vibe. Loved our stay and will be back!
We had a great time, could not beat the location. We didn’t have to drive anywhere to enjoy the beautiful lake.. The water was nice and shallow for the little kids but deep enough that the kids could kayak, canoe and paddleboard to their hearts content. We also enjoyed the nearby bike trails. John was accessible for any questions throughout our stay.
The location of this house cannot be beat. The neighborhood is beautiful, neighbors were all very nice. The owners were very responsive, kind and overly accommodating. The house is very spacious, we stayed with 12 adults and 2 children and never felt like we were on top of each other. We have already booked again for next year!
There were 10 of us that thoroughly relaxed and enjoyed the yellow house. Location right on water was beautiful and spent time floating and swimming in crystal clear Lake Champlain. Camp was also close to bike trail and short car ride to Burlington shops and restaurants. Owner was very quick to respond to questions and camp had all of the furnishings necessary. Would highly recommend!
This was the second year we stayed here at the camp. Water is beautiful! The house is big enough for all 10 adults and 3 children. Chris is very kind and easy to talk to. My grandkids love it here. Will definitely be back! Thank you Cunningham family for sharing your camp with us.
