Pleasant, friendly owners who provided information and suggestions on what to do and where to dine in the area. Breakfast, drinks, coffee, tea and delicious cookies provided.
We visited Pere Marquette and the Grafton area and enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere in Elsah There are shops, a museum and trails in Elsah, we sat out on the covered patio on a nice afternoon
Room was very clean and inviting. Bed was very comfortable as were the chairs. Linens and towels were nice and thick.
Talking with others guests and with owners, Megan and Calvin, added to a enjoyable stay at Green Tree Inn

What a quaint and beautiful bed and breakfast in the peaceful and quiet little river town of Elsah, Il.
Owners are very accommodating and the breakfasts were awesome!
Grafton only few minutes away and Alton fairly close also.
The owners even made us a fire in the fire pit one night.
Place was clean and comfortable.
Highly recommend.

Elsah a step back in time
So relaxing and beautiful surroundings! Our hosts were amazing and the cookies at check in were so delicious!! The town of Elsah is literally you taking a step back in time! Over 50% of the town is the original buildings from the mid 18 hundreds! The Bald Eagles were very active when we were there! Our hosts gave us a private tour of the town’s museum it was amazing! You can’t go wrong staying there and visiting

We really enjoyed our evening away at Green Tree Inn! We were coming down south for car show in Alton but we were looking for a unique place to stay close by and Green Tree exceeded our expectations. The owners are a delight. Room was comfortable and classy. Breakfast and afternoon treat was delicious. Felt like a home away from home. If we have the opportunity to come back we deffinitely will.

The Slotty's from Wisconsin
Gary and Connie are the best hosts EVER!!! The attention to details was amazing. They made us feel like we were the only guests. The food was so good we had to buy their cookbook. Not going to lie, I am a bit of a clean freak, I typically bring my own bedding & cleaning products but there is no need as this place was spotless. If you are in the Alton, Grafton, or Elsa area this is the place to stay for sure. I give it 10 out of 5 stars!!! ☺
