I’ve never had such a nightmare guest experience in the 6 years I’ve been a premier host with VRBO. I send out a message the night before every reservation containing all checkin details and information. In that message, I give express instructions for entering the property and how the second, shared driveway/parking access is on the neighbors property, and that it can be used but not parked on because it belongs to them. The primary driveway has a beautiful handcrafted metal sign with the name of our property and an arrow pointing down the drive towards the parking area and a second metal sign designating the parking area. I had to send my property manager over at 8:30pm because the guest threatened to call a tow truck on my neighbor for parking on her own driveway claiming she was blocked in. When the property manager showed her the main driveway, she said she didn’t realize she could drive on it. Then proceeded to leave a nasty note on my neighbor’s windshield. I agreed to allow her to check in early, at no additional fee. When my cleaner got a flat tire on her way to the property, I wrote the guest that I could only grant a 2 hour early checkin, instead of 3. The guest threw an absolute fit and demanded to cancel and a full refund. When I told her she was welcome to cancel, but our cancellation policy was a 0% refund within 7 days of the reservation, she decided to proceed with her stay. She called VRBO support 3 times when I didn’t respond to her fast enough via text and my longest response time was 19 minutes! There’s so much more, but it’s not even worth going into. All I can do is be thankful she only stayed for one night and move on. 0/10 would NOT recommend renting to this individual.
