“Fresh home cooked full english, great start to the day, owner really nice, and location brilliant, away from the man towns but inly 3 mins walk to Lake Windermere ”

“Food at the Inn arrived incorrectly, and tasteless. It was removed from the bill. When we entered our room the toilet seat almost fell off when moved. The heater in the room was broken. We used the hotel pool facility. The changing rooms were dirty. Dirty nappies in the swimsuit dryer. Sauna out of order. Broken drains on the jacuzzi. When the bubbles were on in the jacuzzi the water smelled stale and unclean. On reporting the cleanliness of the facilities after complaining previously about……

“We had a wonderful stay in this real southern Lake District gem of a cottage – thank you Jules (and Alistair)! It's even lovelier than the photos show! Almost any facilities and extras you could want or need were already provided, with such care and attention to detail across all the areas. If there had been anything missing or not quite right (which there wasn't), then a quick ask would be all that's needed. “The Bridge Inn at Holmrook. Our room was really comfortable, warm and spotlessly clean and well maintained. The whole of the Bridge Inn is dog friendly and welcoming to our pair of 4paws. The breakfast was brilliant. There's a really good selection to choose from and everything was cooked to perfection. We ate at the Bridge Inn every night because the food was excellent. The last time we ate food that good was when we ate at James Martin's restaurant. The menu had just the right amount of dishes……

“Another great stay . Spotless rooms and facilities (we stayed in the barn annexe). Staff excellent and breakfast first class. Lots of variety and uses local produce for their meals. We ate our evening meals there as well. Will definitely go back again . ”

“A lovely clean room with fantastic views. The room and bathroom were massive and it was very quiet. We had a great breakfast and lovely evening dinner at the Pennington. All the staff were brilliant. ”

“Room was clean and refurbished but let down by the bathroom The toilet was badly located and toiletries insufficient ( particularly as there was nowhere to shower in spa) due to no changing rooms being available Parts of the hotel have been refurbished and are lovely although often just superficial but the other parts are very tired and and unloved. Spa - the areas which were available were very good and clean but again doors were lacking in cleanliness and if you look closer corners are……
