“The property is beautiful. Our room was lovely—very clean and comfortable. The seating in our room was perfect for reading, and the balcony an extra treat. Allen was so gracious and helpful. The location was great for dinner plans and a short easy drive to Churchill Downs. Breakfast was delicious—especially the biscuits and gravy. And, the young lady that served us breakfast was very nice and helpful. I’d recommend this Bed and Breakfast to anyone who is planning to spend time in……

“Our room was comfortable. The only thing to me that lacked was that the TV was too small. It had a nice shower and comfortable bed. I did love the historic atmosphere of the hotel—almost like stepping back in time! It was also convenient to several nice restaurants. Great breakfast we had at the cafe! The check-in, restaurant, and valet staff were very helpful and courteous!”

The house is beautifully furnished but the small rooms are not well suited for reading or meeting people. My bedroom was simple but comfortable. The kitchen is convenient. In general reception was good but when we checked in the receptionist was not very “positive “ nor was she welcoming. The young gentlemen and a younger lady (both evening and early AM hours) were fine but our check-in was very underwhelming. Nice location”

It terrified me to arrive at the hotel to find that I needed a security code to gain entrance, a code that was buried deep within several looooong messages from the hotel. “Such a lovely building, clearly loved by all who work there. Information about the property, check-in procedure, etc. was communicated very clearly before my arrival. Fresh lemon blueberry scones were there for a snack when I arrived near midnight. Wow. When booking, I didn’t think about the lack of elevator at this property. My 68 year old knees did complain a little when climbing the external & interior stairs with my luggage.”
