Before arrival I request a unit on the ground floor since I am recovering from a broken ankle. I am handed keys to a room at the very back of the hotel and on the third floor. Pretty much the longest walk possible. That night was the worst sleep ever, heat wave and the fan in my room is broken. In addition, it is hands down the most uncomfortable bed I have ever slept on- camping on the dirt floor included. I was surprised because I have stayed here several times before, but it has been many years. They definitely have not changed the mattresses. So, the next day, I ask for a mattress topper and someone to look at the fan/light combo. The receptionist barely acknowledges my existence but she mumbles that someone will be sent up. I wait in my room for 5 hours- nothing. I go back to the front desk. (the phone does not work in the room either) A young, friendlier gentleman takes my request again since the first time it was ignored. He sends up a cot- which is horrific. And actually a very nice maintenance guy who could only get my fan to work if he took out the lights. So, I had to choose between a fan during a heat wave or an overhead light. I was getting up at 4:30am for work while I was there, the light was missed. I hoped that maybe they would switch my room or at least fix that- nope. Also, the gym equipment felt like it was falling apart. I will say:The cleaning crew were friendly and did a good job. I stayed elsewhere the last part of my trip. No apology.
