“Excellent hotel. Hotel located in nice residential area in townhouse which was extensively renovated. Rooms were beautifully decorated. Bathroom was spotless with great shower. Hotel provided free drink coupons which we used one of the evenings in hotel self service bar. Bar was well stocked with great selection of drinks. Reception was super friendly with Sasha spending time explaining the hotel and providing coupons. Area has a nice market nearby with artisanal products and food. We walked to……
“Receptionist were professional but not very warm, being polite but cold.
The location was great, easy to walk to museums, shops, restaurants! The hotel is also very cosy and comfortable!”
“Hotel is in a nice area and very convenient. But the room has a strange smell. I have a feeling it’s not very clean. No reception, only some staffs work in the restaurant also help you if you have some questions. Not what I expected as a hotel”
“Good location around museum area. Poor sound proof and hotel management. Not worth for USD$300+ per night.
Not expect 4~5 stars hotel but definitely not hostel quality.
Understand its an old building, the soundproof between each floor might not be perfect. But actually, the sound is mostly come from the room between you. The thin compartment plywood cannot help, you can clearly hear people whisper and snoring next to your room.
The night shift manager does not do their job well. People……
“Perfect location, quiet residential yet close to all the action. Staff is very helpful, the room although small it accommodated 4 people. The only puzzling thing is the toilet bowl, we managed to work around it. We will come back again. ”
“Property in great comdition and in a great location. Breakfast was one of the best inckuded breakfasts in Europe. I would definitely stay here again with my family.”
"Not a Hotel — More Like a Hostel Charging Hotel Prices
This place is marketed as a hotel, but in reality, it feels more like a hostel — just with hotel-level pricing. You're essentially paying for the location, as it's close to the museum quarter, which is admittedly convenient.
Here are the key issues:
No real reception – There's no front desk. Instead, a staff member at the café next door acts as "reception" from 9 AM to 6 PM.
Poor accessibility – There’s no proper entrance; you have to climb stairs, and taxis can’t stop right outside the property.
Extremely small rooms – The room is tiny, even by Japanese standards. You can't fully open a suitcase on the floor.
No real windows – The only windows face the staircase and a very slow elevator. You can hear everyone passing by clearly.
Inconvenient power setup – Turning off the room lights also cuts power to the outlets, so you can't charge your phone unless you leave the lights on (except in the bathroom).
Basic bedding – Standard hostel-quality linens and pillows (cushions actually).
On the plus side, the room was clean and odor-free — but that should be the bare minimum for any hotel.
Overall, if you’re expecting hotel quality, you’ll likely be disappointed. You're paying for the location, not the experience."
"I emailed the hotel as my check in time 7am, that's why I booked extra day, the hotel confirmed by email. But when i checked in they cannot find my record, also i requested room close to elevator as i had many luggage, they put me at the last room at the end of corridor."
