「The property is a charming historic hotel. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The pool was lovely as well, though it was a bit chilly to use it. We enjoyed sitting beside it. Our room was well appointed though cosy. People who enjoy a spacious room would want to specify that when booking. The restaurant is excellent. We enjoyed breakfast and dinner.」

「A lovely family run hotel with attention to detail and great service. Great location, with a super pool (great for kids). Beautiful views across the hillsides. Breakfast was delicious and very fresh. Friday night BBQ and live music was a lovely experience. We visited a local Thai restaurant on Friday evening, as recommended by the hotel - they weren’t wrong. It was really tasty and the service excellent. All in all would highly recommend and would love to return to Hotel L’Abbaye!」

Not only did she acclimate us to the hotel, she helped carry our bags, and she helped plan the things we did while we were in the area. We had dinner at the hotel restaurant which was super. 「Avons réservé une chambre dans ce bel établissement authentique de Dordogne. Avant de partir de Bordeaux, j’ai appelé pour savoir s’il était aussi possible de déjeuner, grand bien m’en a pris car notre déjeuner foi gras et cœur de canard était juste un régal assaisonné comme nous apprécions. Puis avons été accompagné à la chambre. Une chambre certes petite (mais cela était bien dans le descriptif) et refaite à neuf où rien ne manque (serviette savon etc etc). 「Un cadre magnifique et une belle maison d'hôtes très joliment rénovée. L'accueil est très chaleureux, un formidable petit déjeuner qui met de bonne humeur. Bref, nous avons passé 3 jours reposants et très agréables. A reserver les yeux fermés, nous y reviendrons avec plaisir 」
