WOW! We just loved this cozy and beautiful home. Walking in the door I immediately appreciated the craftsmanship here. The living room is totally inspiring, with the high ceiling and amazing mountain views. It feels so much larger than 2200 sq ft. It was a real treat sitting in a comfy armchair with a cup of hot coffee, my favorite read, and watching the rising sun light up the peaks out the window. With the fire in the stove I could sit there all day long.
But of course we didn't. We drove a few minutes to a Sno Park across from Willamette Pass ski area and snowshoed on a wonderful, flat trail to Bechtel shelter. Really nice. We scoped out Odell lake on the way back; promising summer destination.
The kitchen was gorgeous, and the house was well equipped with everything we needed. I liked the many personal touches, like the themes in the different rooms: skiing, fishing, autumn, bears.
The drive from Beaverton was easier than I expected. I am a moderately slow driver, and I think it was just over 3hr from 217 and I5. Hwy 58 was especially beautiful, and a nice intro to the weekend.
The only problem I can think of is I may be disappointed the next time I stay in a different house in this price range closer to home! I feel spoiled. Highly recommended.
