This beautiful and historic home located on Mount Crested Butte is perfect for large families and groups. It has 3 large bedrooms as well as a large common area that can be partitioned off into a fourth sleeping quarters. We love our fur babies too, but this is a strict no pets unit.

Originally a small lodge at the base of Mount Crested Butte this rustic yet modern space is perfect for any family or group. The large living room featuring a smart tv + cable, updated gas fireplace, and plenty of comfortable seating is sure to keep everyone entertained after a long day on the mountain.

Adjacent is the recently renovated kitchen. The open layout has multiple seating options and modern, updated appliances. Its perfect for quick lunches in between runs or home cooked dinners with the whole family. There is access to the second story deck that features more seating, a propane grill, and amazing views of crested butte; its perfect for any season. There are 2 private bedrooms upstairs that share a bathroom with full shower/bath. There is also a door in the master that leads out to the main deck.

Going down we have a very large common area with entertainment center including a smart TV with cable and many games. It also has a full and bunk beds with partition to make the room more private. This area is perfect for children or just to get away from the main living room. There is also a bedroom with queen bed and a bathroom with shower accessible from the common area.

This past August my husband and I spent seven days in Crested Butte, with friends. We enjoyed hiking nearby trails, exploring town and soaking up the warm days and cool nights of August in Colorado. What made our trip exceptionally memorable was our home base. The Ruby Dr home truly feels like a home away from home….but better. It’s clean, spacious and chock full of little details like puzzles, bikes, and hiking poles, along with a wide range of reading materials, games and cooking supplies. The location was perfect. Perched up on Mt. Crested Butte, it’s just a short drive from town and all of its cute shops and restaurants. Yet within minutes, we could be on countless trails, all showing off the natural splendor that surrounds Crested Butte. Our favorite part of the house was, hands down, the back deck. Large enough for a big group or intimate enough for a solo cup of coffee with the hummingbirds, this deck provided a sunset view over the mountains which made me wonder why we don’t live in Colorado. We have enjoyed the Ruby Dr home in winter (ski resort less than 10 minutes away), summer (wildflowers in July not to be missed) and fall (the changing colors from the aspen blanket the mountainside like a golden quilt). All seasons in Crested Butte conjure awe, and this place has been a perfect home base for our family while experiencing that Colorado magic year after year.
