“This is everything you could want from a farm stay. Friendly, healthy animals and a property that has obviously been thoughtfully cultivated over the years. Our kids LOVED it. Lisa is a great host and the house has everything you could think of. Quiet and peaceful yet convenient to West Jefferson, and the New River and many other parks. We will definitely be back!!.”

“The house is very nice and well supplied with everything we needed: beautiful porch, lots of amenities, altogether very comfortable! 5 min. from the General Store and less than 10 from the state park entrance. It was a perfect base for day hikes. The host was attentive but not intrusive.”

“My family and I enjoyed our stay here. Everything was clean and neat and the process of checking in and out was easy-peasy. I rated it four stars instead of five because it is remote, so unless you're sticking to cycling or activities on the nearby South Fork of the New River, you'll be driving a bit to get anywhere. Although I'm a lifelong resident of NC, I'm always discovering new places to visit, and this was a great one. I would definitely stay there again when I have more time to explore……

“The house is beautiful and comfortable. It had everything we needed and we enjoyed cooking, relaxing and venturing off. The property and the walks we took visiting the animals and the scenery was so enjoyable. The host(s) could not be more accommodating. Each room is impeccable and the history of the home and land. We saw turkeys and deer in the mornings as each room has a scenic view. You are literally 4 mins from town so convenient, and we we’re comfortable dropping our boys off at Sugar……

“The Little Farm on the Pond was the perfect farmhouse for our before Christmas getaway. The property owners made us feel so welcomed with the lit Christmas tree and a so glad your here sign. We absolutely loved everything about this property. The farmhouse provides all of your needs for your stay. The decor is farmhouse, which was very warm and inviting. The pond was great too. “My wife and I had a wonderful time staying here. The house is cozy and "away from it all," yet not too far from hiking or even small towns. The amenities were what we needed, and being able to walk up and around the property was a nice bonus, too. We did not open a laptop once, which tells you how relaxed and unplugged we were. “Overall I'm glad we picked this hotel. The staff at the hotel were super nice! The floor in our room was a bit squeaky, but we barely heard anything from the floor above us. The pool was a very comfortable temperature and the sauna felt good. They had a heavy snow early on the day we checked in, so we were glad to have a lower level to park in!”
